Well I didn't post daily update yesterday, but every evening I kept working on the Rutscher and the result is this: finished washes and the ambient occlusion, or in this case, more like a color modulation with oil paints 😁
My goal was to make the shapes of the model more "readable" and even though I often kept thinking if I'm going too far with this or that, at the end of the day I feel like the model will benefit greatly from each of these effects.
Now I'm really curious about the chipping and how it will transform the paintjob even further.
If there's any piece of experience to be gained from this post, it's that you don't need any green oil paints to make this type of camo more interesting. I'm sure the same applies for 3-tone German camo, as all colors - yellow, green and brown - are warm, and as such, are highlighted with tan, light yellow, or even white, and darkened with browns.
