I was just at a Doctor Who convention this weekend and got to meet Billie Piper. She did a panel where she spoke about acting, and the roles that she is drawn to. It was absolutely fascinating to hear her talk, and I had you in the back of mind as she was talking about her characterization of Rose.

2024-02-21 08:38:21 +0000 UTCScientifically speaking, you absolutely can orbit a black hole. We're orbiting Sagittarius A* right now (the supermassive black hole at the centre of our galaxy). This also isn't the only very big physics mistake in this episode I think it's just one of those times where you have to suspend your disbelief for the sake of the story (Doctor Who's never been hard science fiction, after all)
