Introduction to Qyerath, told by a Thousand Eyes part 4

The Birth of Vyrilana. The Climax of the Second Divine War.

-----------------------------------

Whatever! So Velex and her three Half-God children, I believe you call them Demigods? Well in Qyerath they call them the Chosen. Oh yeah Velex’s three Deathless joined her in battle, as well as Sarina, the Goddess of Elements and Nature, and her children the Fairy Queens and Primal Elementals, and some Champions from all three Elven races were side by side in front of the great cavern the Maelstrom’s egg was resting inside, waiting for her to hatch. Outside almost all of the Golden Order Gods and Champions had come down, it really seemed like a battle that would tear the world in two! Irall and Astrea joined Orthus Maul and Sarina and Velex and ohh it was SO CRAZY! You could see the air rippling from the divine energy of so many Gods and powerful beings on the same continent.

I believe the human armies were… 140,000 strong and 200,000 on the side of the Golden Order? I know many of your wars now have sides in the hundreds of millions if not billions. But you do need to remember Qyerath did just have a war that culled an entire race from the planet only two hundred years before! Combined with the other races… species. Whatever! That were there... hmm… if I recall… I saw it from four different bodies at once sooo… I think it was 320,000 for the New Order and 300,000 from the Golden Order. Though there were far more of the Minor Gods on the Golden Order side and really each God is probably worth like 20,000 people each or more for just a minor God! So this was about to be THE GREATEST Battle the World had ever seen ever since the World Bubble was made!

But remember what I said about Zuthar and how he would do anything to win? Well… Zuthar sent a strike team to kill the Maelstrom before she could hatch, Zuthar himself had taken the stage and in her fury Velex had stopped paying attention to the flow of souls around her. Herringal, his wife Umaya, and a few not important Gods and Champions had come from above and were burrowing into the chambers below where Greyoll slept and healed, and the Maelstrom’s egg still stabilized the energy inside her.

The fighting began… and the Heavens screamed. All across the world, those who weren’t in combat could hear and see the sky tearing itself asunder. The energy from the battle tore mortals, even Champions, to shreds just from being near two Gods clashing with all their might. Velex’s three Chosen had killed several minor Gods and hundreds of Champions. Ryka… oohh it was GLORIOUS! Ryka’s head was sliced off… and the Vampire’s body fell limp, before these terrifying red tendrils came out of her, killed the woman who beheaded her, before piercing her head and placing it back on as Ryka drank from her dying body and sprouted massive bloody wings oozing with divine energy! Ryka hurtled into the sky in triumph… and saw the molten trail on top of Greyoll’s sanctum. Can you imagine that! How lucky that was that she did that? Oh… stuff like that has happened hundreds of times in Human Wars? You know your right! There was that man who saved 70 people without using a gun and the woman who held off an entire battalion of Udruk as the last survivor of her scouting squad! I suppose the luck of the Supreme God is all over the universe is it not? Heehaahaa, do you think he would mind if I prayed to him? I’d love to meet the Supreme God of Humanity, the Nerai, and the Sarahans some day! Hmm… let’s save that for another day.

Now. Where were we… Oh yeah thank you! So Ryka saw the trail left by the Golden Order strike team… but her mother was in the middle of an insane battle against the Minor Gods of a few forests, a dozen champions, and Zuthar himself! Velex’s tummy was starving to eat all of them and her eyes were pretty much crying black tears of wrath as she swang the Null Blades like slices of darkness itself! Remember Zuthar’s armor had the chains with Rula’s energy grafted to it. As if his wife was defending him in battle even after all Zuthar had done, and this only drove Velex more and more deranged with wrath. Ryka called her siblings and a dozen champions, most of them were women, and they hurtled passed their allies into the Sanctum as they heard fighting.

Farramuss had his mighty jaws against Herringal and was scorching the God’s arms with his fire as hot as the Sun. I forgot his name but… the Dragon of Storms… hmm… that’s too bad! Sadly, the Calamity of Storms was dead, Umaya had killed him and was struggling against Monica with all her might. The Calamity of Earth and the Calamity of the Oceans were both working together to kill the others as the Champions realized they wouldn’t be able to last. Instead they began suicide rushing the egg of the Maelstrom as Monica spread her deadliest poisons of all into the room. Hitting even her own siblings as crystals burst from their arms and Dreadflowers burst from their legs and tried to root them to the ground. Umaya screamed in agony as her body began to melt, but they had come prepared. The severed horns of unicorns had been forged with a Relic and Herringal blew it. The purifying call was so powerful it healed everyone who heard it, except Monica who was in agony as it purified the poison in her body and her tail began to melt. Herringal tried to blow it again after seeing how effective it was, but Threxx arrived and sliced Herringall’s arm off. Farramuss took the advantage and raised a blazing claw, so hot plasma arced off of it and scorched the ceiling into molten minerals, and sliced off Herringall’s legs.

Umaya screamed to try to save her Husband, and the Champions rushed passed to kill the Maelstrom’s eggs. Herringal screamed for Umaya to run… but Ryka and Orissa pounced on her, as well as the Ice Calamity Dragon and a few Champion women. They all held her down as Threxx took a Null Blade and hurled it between Umaya’s breasts as Herringal shouted till his throat tore as his wife fell limp, the Null Blade pulsing as it sucked both her life and soul out.

Herringal was… I believe he knew how Zelez felt seeing her Rula be chopped up, but at least Umaya wasn’t fed to him afterwards. Herringal did not wait for Farramuss to devour him though. Herringal stood and grabbed his severed arm, pouring energy into his arm, not to heal it, but to turn it into a bomb, a special bomb. Heringall grabbed two of the Relics he had brought with him. Sorry I forgot their names! And then he activated them both as the others realized he was going to detonate himself. The Ice Calamity… I forgot her name but she made a massive shield of Black Ice to defend the tunnel to the Egg and Greyoll, as Threxx and Ryka chased down the Champions within. Herringal realized then that if he just detonated his essence it would destroy the Ice Shield and maybe severely hurt the Ice Calamity… but that was it. So instead he grinned in his final moments. And he stabbed his severed arm into his chest before glowing like a star and exploding. Herringal’s death wave, fueled by rage and desperation, and the two Relics he drained of all their power, went all across the world. People defended themselves, only for the wave to travel right through their barriers… Because it was not a deadly curse or blast wave… it was a blessing made from hatred.

Herringal did not see Threxx throw the Null Blade, he only saw his wife surrounded by a dozen women with the black sword pulsing between her chest… and so he turned his hatred on them. A blessing that encompassed the entire world, entering every woman, and in those it activated in, it gave them strength, or immense mana, or other special abilities like an aura of healing… but it also came with divine energy forced into the body of mortals. So this would prove too much for the body to handle, and in thousands it burned them up to nothing, but in others it activated in… Herringal’s Grasp had an odd but deadly side effect. A runaway blessing you could call it! In the women who Grasp activated in who survived the initial blessing, the energy caused their bodies to begin overproducing some random trait. Like what? Ohhh youuu~ Like gas or cum or dumps or milk! It’s a blessing after all! Just a blessing that would happily burst the blessed woman if she didn’t constantly empty herself of the blessing! And the stronger the gifts she got of strength or magic or abilities, the stronger the runaway buildup can be! That sounds very fetishy? Hiiiiihiiii! Oh you Recckanni! It is very fetishy! Remember… it’s a BLESSING! A blessing so good your body can’t handle it and bloats up till you let it all out… or explode!

I’m ruining the moment? What do you- THE WAR! Oh my Vizzerlian! Forgive me you're right! Okay the war the war… OH!

After Herringal’s Grasp as it would be called by those who saw it, and passed down in secret. What? Well no one wants to be known as the woman whose strength was because of a God’s magic suicide, and if she didn’t hyper fart once or twice a day or more she might swell up till she explodes! That’s like… I don’t know? What’s the most humiliating and embarrassing thing you can think of? Yeah that works! So Herringall’s Grasp was named, and then quickly buried. Kept in books and stuff all over so women born with it from then on wouldn’t be in too much danger of exploding, but hidden away enough that not everyone would know about it. Eventually that kiiiinda fell apart and people just started calling it The Curse or The Grasp. But it was a good intention at the start!

Now though… Herringal’s blastwave was the… alarm clock? Signal? Uhh… I don’t know exactly how to describe it. But Greyoll was awoken early, still very weak, as the Maelstrom’s egg cracked. Ryka and Threxx had killed almost all the Champions in the halls, but one made it in just to see The Maelstrom be born as she broke free of her egg. This dragon the size of a small dog pulsed with power, the Champion, no, even Greyoll was paralyzed watching her daughter as she opened her mouth and leapt onto the Champion. The Dragon the size of a small dog ate the man twice her size… and needed more.

Greyoll shouted two things at her, afraid she would lose control of her daughter at any second. First, she named her. The pulsing mass of black, with scales as dark as the night, and a maw of glowing blue that entranced all that saw it… she would be named…

Ooohh sorry… even I get the scale shivers here!

Her name became Vyrilana. The Calamity Dragon of Chaos. The Maelstrom of Chaos, often simplified to just The Maelstrom. The Black Death, and her last title is World Eater!

The second thing Greyoll said to her, was to protect her allies, and devour her enemies. Greyoll told me Vyrilana looked at her, as if judging her worth as a mother to give her an order. Before Vyrilana, the just born dragon with a stuffed tummy, spread her wings for the first time, dripping liquid darkness and starry droplets of solid mana, lightning coalesced in the air as Ryka and Threxx stood motionless. Vyrilana finally exhaled a great blue breath, and the newborn’s stomach rumbled as she shook off the lightning and was two feet bigger.

Vyrilana finally spoke, and her voice echoed with as much power as Greyoll herself, a naive, innocent voice, dripping with hunger and arrogance. The new Apex of the World had been born. But she would obey her mother, for now. Vyrilana silently crawled towards Ryka and Threxx, and asked them where her enemies were as her belly growled again.

Outside, everyone on the battlefield had stopped in confusion after the Golden Wave from Herringal’s detonation, then everyone felt fear as a strange wind began to pick up. A storm was brewing. The Storm to end all storms. Before the Gods and Champions and Primal Beasts and Mortals… the sky that had been wounded and torn began to scream at them, telling them their punishment had come. The War would end that day, or they would all die. Then a torrential rain began to pour. But no one could control it. Not Irall, not the Calamity of Water, not Zarahi, not Leviathon, not even all the Minor Gods related to water combined. This was a rain that would not obey them. A rain that marked them all as prey.

Zuthar knew his plan had failed. As the water poured down and the storm above only picked up speed and power, darkening the sky as lightning began to crackle and roar in the skies, threating to shoot down any Harpies, Gryphons, Avian Monsters, even other Dragons weren’t safe as the Sacntum became the Eye of the Storm. Then a small creature came out, escorted by Ryka, Threxx, Orissa, and her big siblings. And everyone there- even me! Felt a dread I only experienced once millennia ago when the First Wizard Jensen found my core and wanted to see if I was truly loyal to humanity… yes it's not a scary name I know!  But it was the fear of Death… mhmm… not quite. Oh I got it!

The fear that you are nothing but prey. You do not matter. Nothing will help you. No one will save you. Your final moments are coming, and you will watch until the end, you will struggle, you will fight, you will run, and yet you will die no matter what. Oooof Heavy huh! I’m sorry! Vyrilana just kinda does that to you… but now we’re really getting to the good crazy stuff!

So Vyrilana, this tiny thing compared to her brothers and sisters, spoke up with a beautiful voice that echoed across the battlefield and you know what she said? Where is my prey. Ohhhh she is amazing. And so Farramuss knelt his head down and Vyrilana nuzzled her big brother as he said something I couldn’t make out. Then Farramuss’ chest swelled with power before the Calamity of Fire roared to the skies as Vyrilana’s Maelstrom continued to grow. The skies had darkened for miles as giant bolts of bright blue lightning lit up the darkness that continued to spread like a flood as the winds and rain only became more powerful. Then Farramuss breathed out and from his mouth shot thousands upon thousands of flaming bolts that flew out across the battlefield. Striking every Greater God, Minor God, Mortal and Champion he knew from the Golden Order and branding them for death… for sacrifice to his new baby sister. I would say Farramuss’ mark covered about 70% of the troops of the Golden Order?

Everyone trembled as Vyrilana seemed to shake, trembling in place as glowing blue drool fell from her mouth and dissolved the ground. Wondering what terrible thing was about to happen. Even Velex had paused attacking Zuthar as the torrential rain and lightning tearing at the sky painted a scene straight out of the end times. Then baby Vyrilana made a strange shrieking roar that got deeper by the second. Farramuss told me it was her first roar which was why it sounded so cute at first before it became so terrifying a few hundred died just from hearing it. Vyrilana was so excited she had done her first roar. Then she lunged for the the first marked person as everyone began fighting for their lives. As Vyrilana feasted on the marked Mortal, her belly swelling before the mass of darkness grew more defined. The war resumed as the lightning bolts began to strike, and it’s strange you know. When the rain pours so hard you feel like you are drowning to take every breath, when the sky is as black as the night and the wind is ready to tear your arm off at any time, then… the lightning seems to shine brighter than the day, those blue bolts… and after a bolt lights up the world, even the Glow of a God seems dark in comparison. It really makes you feel alive you know? The only time I have ever felt like that, besides when Jensen found my core, was when I was a young Human man named Goro, and met a Black Severa… the way it hunted me, the trilling warble of it’s signals that read your heart, read the pulse of electricity in your nerves, how it’s head locked onto me but the rest of it’s body kept shifting… I felt like it was trying to find my Core too… then it tore me in half and devoured me and I was so relieved to have died.

Oh sorry that was scary again! I truly do hope you never meet a Severa… except the Hunter Princess! She is a wonderful girl!

Back to the battle. Small ponds were forming left and right as the rain kept coming, and in between flashes of blue lightning, people on both sides could see Vyrilana tearing apart those with the glowing marks. And after each one she ate, she grew and grew. A gorgeous long tail had grown from the tiny body, splitting into two as crystals lined the top. A glowing blue star between the two tips of her tail, electricity, perhaps plasma? Glowing on her spine that had started off smooth, and now had massive frills and spikes. Her smooth head that had been so adorably terrifying was developing her signature horns and nose spike. Vyrilana kept eating and growing as the Golden Order began to panic. Some tried to cut their marks off, some killed themselves. Some of the Minor Gods and Champions tried to run away. Only to be held in place by New Order Champions as the war turned into a frenzy in the darkness. The Maelstrom only kept growing as mortals were now being sucked up by the edge of the storm. Everyone on both sides rushed to the Eye of the Storm, except several of the Gods battling it out in the middle of the torrential storm as the winds began to rise into the hundreds of miles an hour.

Vyrilana had grown from a small welp barely bigger than a… hmm.. a house dog. To being as large as a Mud Beast. Oh Mud Beast is kind of a common name… hmm… Where were you from again? Ohhh… Then Vyrilana was already the size of a Slipship. So about thirty feet long. And everyone she ate only added to her size, her power, her… evolution.

Any other questions? I'm happy to answer in actual lore response rather than voidling "So then this cool thing happened!"

Chimera134

Haha I can explain as actual narrator rather than as unreliable voidling. Vyrilana, the absolute strongest Dragon ever, so strong even gestating her nearly killed Greyoll, the Goddess of Dragons was born. Vyrilana has abilities from almost all her previous siblings, but loves lightning and storms the most. Vyrilana just existing and letting out her power is slowly making a Hypercane thats consumed the entire battlefield, just like she wants to with her hungry mouth and tummy. She is pretty much an ever evolving beast of destruction. The Deathless are the names of Velex's Three Chosen, her Demigods made by having sex with Erasmis the King of Kings. Each of them has her full gift to revive themselves when slain and recover from any injury. Herringal and Umaya *Were* Zuthar's best warriors. But they were surrounded and in pretty much a 2 v 20 inside the Sanctum. So when Umaya died and Farramuss sliced off Herringal's arm. Herringal realized that basically everyone had barriers up to fight against his curses, but no one has barriers to fight against a blessing! So he channeled all his energy into himself and made a blessing that would cover the whole battlefield, only with the two relics it went faaarr more than that. And destroyed himself to cast his blessing and return to nothing like Umaya. Not wanting to be in heaven or Velex's stomach for eternity without her. His blessing covered the whole world on accident. And it was designed as a double sided sword. Chosen, aka Demigods, can handle divine energy as they are made of it. Champions, aka mortals that were given tons of energy and made stronger, have special requirements. Many people can't be a champion as their bodies can't handle all that energy as they are just a normal mortal. Herringal basically turned every non-Chosen woman in the world into a miniature Champion. It wouldn't actually awaken in many of them. But in like 10% or so it would Awaken and prove way too much for them to handle and they would just turn into flames/ energy and die. In the others that awakened, they now properly have Herringal's Grasp. A massive boost to strength/ magic/ some ability but at the cost of hyper fetish stuff. As they are now basically an artificial Champion.

I have no idea what’s going on but it was still pretty interesting.
