In the evening of that day, Meng Yunzheng handed a note to the assistant. He was trying to minimize any chances of meeting Qi Lie, so after giving the note to the assistant, he expected that they would establish contact with Qi Lie.

Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng continued to explore the town as usual. After several days of this routine, the people who were tracking them grew increasingly anxious.

They had followed Meng Yunzheng to Qingxuan County with the intention of luring out Qi Lie. However, his movements had been entirely normal, and he had not disappeared from their sight, even at night. It seemed he hadn't met anyone.

Could it be that he couldn't contact Qi Lie, and that's why he had lingered in Qingxuan County for so long?

Cheng Wenbao's house had been mostly destroyed by the fire, and the servant who set the fire was missing. There was also a lot of bloodstains in the alleys behind the house. Wei Qin was the prime suspect, and the authorities were searching for her.

Moving Wei Qin to the carriage was not difficult. Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng already had a suitcase with clothes and daily necessities. They just needed to rearrange the items inside, put them in bundles, and hide Wei Qin inside the suitcase. Then they could lift it onto the carriage.

Over the past two days, they had bought some additional items, so having a few extra bags and bundles wasn't unusual.
