Chapter 2002: Encounter of Two Teams

Chapter 2002: Encounter of Two Teams

The horse-drawn carriage was waiting in line to leave the city when Shu Yu suddenly called for a halt, leaving Ying Xi momentarily puzzled. She turned to ask, "Miss, what's wrong?"

"Isn't that Da Zhuang?" Shu Yu pointed to a man not far away negotiating with a stall owner.

Seemingly unsatisfied with the negotiation, Da Zhuang shook his head and entered another shop with two men behind him.

Ying Xi immediately nodded and said, "Yes, that's Da Zhuang. How did he end up here?"

Shu Yu calculated the time, a smile forming on her face. She said, "He must be delivering goods to the Changjin Prefecture along with Big Brother. They must be passing through here."

Ying Xi was surprised, "What a coincidence, we've run into them."

"Ying Xi, let's go back."

"Okay."

Ying Xi guided the reins and moved out of the queue, fortunately, they had just started lining up and were at the very end.

In the carriage behind them, Ying Dong watched them curiously and quickly changed direction to leave the queue.

When Ying Xi drove the carriage to the shop where Da Zhuang had entered, he happened to come out.

He had originally intended to pass by the carriage, but upon hearing a familiar voice, he raised his head and saw Shu Yu emerging from the carriage.

"Master?" Da Zhuang exclaimed in delight.

Shu Yu jumped down from the carriage and walked to the side of the shop, examining the several packages he had hanging on him. She smiled and asked, "Did you just pass through Huajiang Prefecture? Where's Big Brother?"

"Yes, we arrived here yesterday afternoon. The steward and the others are resting at the inn. I took two men out to buy things and didn't expect to run into you here. Master, are you planning to go home?"

Shu Yu nodded, "Yes, we just arrived yesterday. Is your inn far from here? Take me there to have a look."

"Not far at all, it's nearby."

The inn was indeed not far; they were just passing through the city and stopping to rest for a night before setting off again today. With so much merchandise and carts to transport, the closer to the city gate, the better.

Shu Yu followed Da Zhuang towards the inn and asked about the quantity of goods they were delivering this time.

Da Zhuang explained, "We've sent half of our inventory from home. The manager said this trip was not easy, so we should take as much as we can. Manager Jiang has many ideas, and the goods at Changjin Prefecture sell quickly, especially with the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival. They're planning some activities, so the more we can deliver, the better."

He gave Shu Yu an approximate quantity and continued, "But we might have a few customers today, so the manager and the others are waiting at the inn. We won't set off until this afternoon."

Otherwise, they would have left as soon as the city gate opened.

Shu Yu paused in her steps and asked, "What do you mean?"

"We entered the city yesterday afternoon, right? At the time, the manager saw that it was still early, so he said he wanted to visit the docks. There are many cargo ships there, and plenty of merchants too. Last time, we were in a hurry and didn't have time to look around. This time, we're not in such a rush, so we're taking the opportunity to see if we can find some customers. After all, our family's goods are all rare, especially the instant noodles. Those traveling merchants always appreciate convenient food options like that."
