Tao Shi was quite pleased with Gan Rui's behavior. Although it was their first meeting, this young man understood propriety, had a pleasant and outgoing personality, was well-read, and already held the title of a scholar at a young age. Most importantly, he clearly had strong feelings for Meng Han.

When she noticed how Gan Rui eyes were filled with Meng Han, she thought she might as well intervene and said, "Ah Rui, didn't you mention a tea house nearby with delicious pastries? Why don't you take Nini and buy some to bring back?"

She then turned to Meng Han and asked, "Miss Meng, Nini likes you. Would you mind accompanying her?"

Nini quickly chimed in, "I want Miss Han to accompany me."

It was quite obvious that this was a pretext to give them some time alone. Who among them present couldn't tell?

Meng Han couldn't help but look at Tao Shi, who smiled and nodded, saying, "Go ahead, hold Nini's hand and don't let go."

"Okay." Meng Han picked up Nini, and Gan Rui tried to take her, but Nini clung to Meng Han, turning her back to him and saying, "I want Miss Han to hold me."

Gan Rui whispered softly, "You can't call her Miss. Call her... Aunt."

Meng Han blushed and glared at him before quickly leaving with the child. Gan Rui hurriedly followed.

The people in the private room couldn't help but cough lightly, struggling not to burst into laughter.

Liao Shi quickly changed the subject, saying, "I really like Ah Han. She's so patient despite being so young. Our Nini isn't easy to handle, yet she played with her for so long. Ah Han and Ah Rui make such a perfect couple. Why don't our two families set this marriage in stone? It's time we made it official."

Tao Shi had enjoyed her conversation with Liao Shi earlier and nodded, "It's rare to have such a good rapport with you. If our two families become in-laws, we'll surely get along well."

"That's settled then. Another day, we'll have the matchmaker visit and discuss the details more thoroughly."

"Sounds good."

"Meng family's aunt came all the way to the city. When would you like to visit our Gan family? It would be great for Aunt to see the place where Ah Han will live after marrying into the Gan family. We can arrange a meeting with my father, Ah Rui's Big Brother, and Ah Rui's second sister as well. Everyone can meet each other."

This was also to ease Tao Shi's concerns. Before making the engagement official, they wanted to get to know the Gan family and its members better.

"Yes, Miss," the servant sighed, "Arranging a marriage proposal for Young Master Ah Rui is such a major event, yet they didn't even inform Miss. It's quite disrespectful."
