However, Gan Rui still came, explaining that he was shopping nearby and decided to say hello when he saw Shu Yu.

What made her even more troubled was that every time Gan Rui came, Meng Han would suddenly appear as if she had caught a whiff of something fishy. She would fix her gaze on Gan Rui, looking very vigilant.

If Meng Han saw Shu Yu there, she would push her inside and keep an eye on Gan Rui herself.

Gan Rui seemed delighted but also quite nervous whenever Meng Han was around. He was visibly on edge, knowing that she was watching him closely.

Meng Han even whispered to Shu Yu that Gan Rui must have something to hide.

Shu Yu wasn't a fool. Even if she wasn't very perceptive, she could see through Gan Rui's intentions.

This young man seemed to have developed feelings for their family's daughter.

Shu Yu's current impression of Gan Rui was generally favorable. He was kind-hearted, caring, loyal, and came from a decent background. He had some occasional naivety, but being a scholar, he possessed genuine knowledge and talents.

Meng Han was fourteen years old, and her family had already begun searching for a suitable match for her. She was older for her age, and by the next year's first half, she would be of marriageable age, making it an appropriate time to arrange her marriage.

Shu Yu was Meng's future sister-in-law, and even if their relationship was good, she couldn't meddle in her future sister-in-law's marriage.

However, she still cared about Meng Han's future and hoped she would find a good match. Especially since the contacts and knowledge of the Tao family were limited. Shu Yu used to have a different personality and would have already chosen someone. However, she had changed, and now, she would discuss it with uncle Meng and consider Meng Han's opinion. Otherwise, according to her previous character, she would have already made a decision.

Among those who caught Tao Shi's attention, at least in Shu Yu's view, the Gan family, and Gan Rui, seemed to be one of the best options.

Shu Yu thought that even though Meng Han seemed immature now, who knew when she would suddenly blossom in the romance department? She wanted to understand the Gan family better and be prepared, just in case.
