So here we are, in the final walk of our journey through the first edition of Straight!? Leading up to the release of the last chapter, I'm going to be showcasing a few things that I'm adding to this version of the game that I've been working on and thinking about for a very long time. Also, the Dev Team has never seen any of these sooooo surprise. It's too late to change it now.
Because I know how quickly people like to speed click through the opening sequences of the game booting, I want to individually post them here publicly and force some of you to slow down and experience them because they're important to me.
New Dedication Page
So first up, we have a new dedication page.
I wanted to include something when you start a New Game so the only time you'll see this pic is if you start the game completely over starting with v0.21. This dedication will appear right after you click New Game and start in the Prelude chapter. This is now the first thing you'll see when you start Zack's journey from the beginning before you see any part of the story.
It's weird that I've read a lot of books in my life and never really given much thought or time to the author's dedication page. Honestly, I usually just brush past them. But after going through this experience, it's now one of the most important pages to me. I spent a lot of time thinking about how I wanted to word this and I think I finally settled on this because this was my intention and I want people to know that when it starts. Despite some of the more adult content in this game, I really want the story to be taken seriously. I wanted to have something thought provoking that sets a somewhat serious tone when the game starts-- a hint of the emotional journey that you're about to experience.
Also, a quick thanks to Clay from the Discord for helping me secretly create these without the Dev Team knowing. They won't let me touch Photoshop for a thousand reasons that you don't even want to know about.
I'll be posting the other additions next month periodically. But because it's still Pride month, this particular screen made sense to post in June. BTW, all future posts related to the new screen additions will be public and free. I want people to see these.
