DevLog Update

Hey all,

For those in the higher tier that have been getting Cody selfies on the daily, hopefully this log won't get lost in the shuffle. I wanted to check in regarding the game progress and update people so here we go. Also, these are getting way less professional because I'm trying to get the actual game done so don't hate me :p

Writing

If you're not following me on Twitter, I made a pretty huge announcement here . So that was it. That was the moment that I finished it. I'll admit that I didn't do a whole hell of a lot the rest of the day. I sorta checked out. It's bittersweet but I was still pretty nervous and I felt stupid because I already missed fictional people. No one saw that version but It was a day later or so that I finally got the balls to share it with Blayke... who had the intended emotional reaction so then I fucking cried again. 

At any rate, the rough draft for the ending is done.

CGs

So I'm finishing up the second to last scene probably tomorrow or so then I need to render. Which leaves one more full scene of CGs to do. I don't really have  an idea of how long those will take... honestly, I never know until I actually get into the story. I usually just go line by line and see where my heart's at. I'm still working out the setup and execution of this scene so that could be really difficult or really easy depending on what I go with. I'm still toying with some ideas.

Right now I got about 550 images in the new update done with one more scene to do from scratch. 

What to Expect

There's been speculation and begging for this update. I know what people want-- I want it, too. But these characters are writing this story-- not me. I will say that, to my knowledge, I've never heard anyone figure it all out. I've heard bits and pieces over the last year or so where some people have got a few things right about the ending but missed other things. Some parts of the ending, I've never heard. That being said, I think it will surprise most people. I think it will stay fresh and hopefully for anyone who did have it silently figured out, it'll be something to watch it unfold. This is another heavy update, folks. It's a rollercoaster because honestly, I don't think this story deserves anything less. 

There's also some pretty heavy topics discussed in this update. Things that I've pondered and things that I think hold a lot of people back from accepting themselves and I want to tackle them. I needed to tackle them for myself. So expect some heavy dialogue until the very end. 

It's no secret that I stress about every update because I care about the story and I know you do, too. I've wanted to do these characters justice. Since 2017 they've been in my heart and looking at my rough draft, I think I did my best. The ending of this hit me like a fucking truck and I think I'm going to be proud of it.

Release Date?

Ok. I don't like to give dates so I'm not going to give exact ones. I go product over release dates anyway and that's served me well thus far so I'm not changing shit on the last update. We're coming up on the end of June now and it won't be ready by the end of this month and I don't want to push this update. So I'm honestly thinking July. I'm not sure when in July but things usually move fairly quickly once I get all the images done (usually a week or two) so we'll see how it goes. The early copy of the game boots so I'm gonna have minimal bugs so that should save me a day or two right there. 

My plan is to play, edit, then let it sit then come back and play and edit again. Fresh eyes have always been effective for me so I'm sticking with that. 

So again... expect closure in July as we step back into it one last time together.
