Growing Fury (Pages 1-4)

It had been a year, a whole year since Dawn had shrunk. When Dawn had agreed to help Cynthia out with her experiment she was ready for some consequences, but none to this degree.

Cynthia had told Dawn she was so close to finding a way to reverse the shrinking... But that was the same thing she had been saying for over 6 months. In her defence Cynthia had managed to increase Dawn's size from 5cm to 6.5cm!.. But that didn't make Dawn's life any easier.

Dawn had to rely on others to do practically anything, whether it was eating, or even just moving around. Cynthia constantly coddled Dawn despite her protests. Even when Cynthia listened to Dawn and tried treating her like the grown adult she now was, the small pride Dawn reclaimed would be quickly washed away when Dawn had to ask for help with a new embarrasing challenge like scaling a small step.

Dawn felt helpless. Worse, she felt alone. Cynthia wasn't her friend anymore, she was practically Dawn's caretaker. Dawn's situation was a secret, so Dawn didn't often get visitors. At one point Dawn had even made friends with a boy who had been shrunken smaller than her. But Dawn had unfortunately... misplaced him somewhere.

Dawn had enough. She was going crazy. Sitting around, alone for hours unable to do anything . She didn't trust Cynthia anymore, all she ever did was look down on her. Dawn had always felt like she was being looked down at, even when she became a trainer, despite all her accomplishments she couldn't help but feel overshadowed by others like Cynthia. Thanks to her shrinking, that paranoia was festering. She just wanted to feel like somebody again. She had even convinced herself that everything that had happened to her was actually part of some sort of scheme by Cynthia. Cynthia clearly enjoyed being a champion, so maybe she just wanted even more power, someone to lord over, like a pet.

Dawn had enough. Cynthia had claimed to be working day and night on a solution and that if they acted rash something could go terribly wrong. Yeah right, Cynthia was just trying to scare her. No more would she listen to absurd horror stories like people shrinking themselves out of existence or growing too large into power hungry giants.

In the last few months, Dawn had not much else to do but watch Cynthia's experiments. To the point where Dawn had actually started to understand Cynthia's work. If she could just get to Cynthia's computer, maybe she could find a solution herself.

After a long journey across the expansive lab floor, Dawn reached the bottom of Cynthia's desk. She grabbed onto a wire dangling from the desktop, and using all her strength she slowly climbed her way up. At last, Dawn arrived. Exhausted, she looked around to see the comparatively giant Cynthia sleeping at her desk.

Cynthia had truly been working all night on her latest solution she was sure could fix Dawn until she passed out of exhaustion. However when you're too small to even get in view of a clock, it really seemed to Dawn that Cynthia was sleeping on the job.

'That lazy slob. I'm fighting for my life just to get to a table. Meanwhile she's taking a nap and selling me dreams.' Dawn was furious, she refused to stay helpless another minute. Yet there wasn't anything to do. At the size of a mouse what could her rage acomplish. No. She wasn't a mouse. She was smart, talented, she wasn't useless, she deserved more!

That's when Dawn spotted Cynthia's laptop... And a pencil. Perfect, she had gotten a lot more physically fit while at this size, she had to, to survive. She was just about big enough to lift the pencil and use it as a lever to open up the laptop.

Now to find out what Cynthia had been working on...

"No way. What the hell?" Dawn remarked. What she found, was data. Data that suggested the Luminous Orb that had shrunk Dawn all that time ago, had been used again. Apparently it had been used on another girl that had been shrunk..... And it succesfully grew her back! Dawn was in disbelief, why would Cynthia be hiding this from her? Unless her worries were true and Cynthia really did want to keep her this way.

In reality, the real reason why Cynthia kept this from Dawn was because she knew how Dawn would react. If Cynthia was awake right now, she'd feel vindication. Tests needed to be run, Cynthia had to make sure everything was safe. Afrerall the previous experiment from the data had gone horribly wrong... But that's another story that may get completed one day.

Dawn wouldn't stand for this. She was more than just a victim and Cynthia had to pay for what she done. And Dawn knew exactly what to do...

After all this time we're back to Dawn's original shrinking story! This was originally going to be a mini story but as I started working on it, it got bigger and bigger. So I've made it a full series!
