Public DevLog Update (Important Information for Supporters)

Hey all,

So I'm dropping a public DevLog update because this can affect all who currently subscribe in addition to any who may be thinking of subscribing at the end of this month.

I always try and keep the supporters up to date on the current update progress and we're ending the end of the month--which means the billing cycle is going to hit in a few days. I wanted to give enough information so followers can make an informed decision regarding the monthly billing charges.

Current Status

I'm a little ahead of where I was a few days ago and I'm sitting at around 1,500 lines of code (For newer members, previous monthly updates dropped with around 1,000 lines). This is slightly inaccurate to gauge progress because I have a ton of code that has no pictures added yet so that's basically around 200 lines of dialogue added in the last few days. I hit a rough patch between school, work, and internship stuff and it slowed me down but I've recently hit a second wind and things are going smoother again.

The downside is there won't be an update during this month. I anticipate that things will go similar to how they did last month. There is honestly no reason for me to pump out an update this month and interrupt the flow of the story only to pump out a really short one to end Chapter 5 next month. It'll just throw things off and I honestly don't like the feel of it. So I'm going to launch a bigger update next month like I did on v0.9 and make this update end Chapter 5. The way things are going now, I anticipate that it could actually be bigger than v0.9 but I'm not sure yet. The writing still needs a lot of work but I'm a lot more optimistic than I was a few weeks ago. So basically, while my updates have slowed down a bit, they're a ton bigger than they used to be. Long run: you're probably getting more than you used to.

While I don't normally give target dates on updates, I feel like v0.10 will hopefully hit around the middle of August. I'm hoping it won't be a whole month unless I have a lot of problems again with my old-ass equipment. While I used to try and hit updates right after the first of the month, I'm trying to just be more open with the story and not run it based on deadlines...shit gets rushed and the story ends up suffering. If it's any consolation: expect more skin in this update...so hopefully, your patience will be rewarded.

The reason I'm posting this is to allow you time to adjust your pledges according. For those of you that want update content every single month, you may feel you didn't get your money's worth for this month. While I understand this, I anticipate it will even out in the following month as all previous updates always have. However, I'm running this show with full transparency so I just wanted to give peeps a heads up. For those that stick around and don't drop their support-- I fucking love you!
