Now I'm continuing to drawing and texture the house of the main characters from my game, i.e. Faeena and Varvara. One of the most iconic locations in the game, where each day will begin and end, and where the prologue and epilogue will take place. And in the process I found something that I thought was long lost, namely the portrait of their mother Matilda Moray, which was drawn by artist Helga Wojik back in 2021. I decided that there was no reason for art to sit on a shelf, so I shared it with you.
The portrait was drawn before my nymphaids were fully covered in fur and became nymphaids (before there were only dryads and half-breeds), so Matilda uses the old style, namely a human form above the waist with antlers and deer ears. Nevertheless, the game itself will use this variant: each of the sisters has a small portrait of their mother in their room, and there will also be a Matilda memorial stand in the hallway with a larger portrait and an urn with her ashes. Because Matilda is dead when the game starts, but the memories are still fresh, as Varya and Faeena will repeatedly mention in their dialogs.
Why Moray and not Shay, since both Varvara and Faeena have the clan surname Shay? Because the mother of the main characters died before the two sisters became part of the Shay clan. Before that they, like Elizabeth and Aurora, were part of Moray clan.
