I love their English songs and their Korean songs and I can't really compare the two. It's just all Monsta X to me and what do I feel like listening to today ? But my music moods shift wildly. I can be listening to Kpop one minute and Metalcore the next. LOL. It's hard to explain why you like some things and others not so much. It either speaks to your soul or it doesn't. It's no judgement on the artist. :)

2024-04-12 19:19:19 +0000 UTCI don't think there is necessarily anything to "get" from the You Can't Hold My Heart MV - my takeaway was that the members are all in Shownu's heart lol. Who Do U Love & One Day are my favorites... there is a MTV Live of One Day that absolutely destroyed me in the best way possible, I gasped, gagged, cried... I did it all. I think you'd enjoy the MV or the Special Clip for Whispers In The Dark (it's concert footage and it's SO CUTE). Listen, this might be a hot take, but I don't love love their english stuff, there is a reason I listen to KPOP and it's because I don't really mess with current pop radio music... so do they have great english music? yes, 100%, especially in relation to what KPOP tends to release as english music but it's just not my favorite as a whole in their discography. I prefer their Japanese music over their English, but their english stuff is so beloved for a reason <3.

Without fully spoiling it for you. That’s why you can’t hold my heart is like a. Break up song. Also if you listen closely you can hear wonho on that track he was just already gone when they did the videos for that album.

The stages for You Problem are great, there is mic choreo which I’m always a fan of. There’s also a MTV live of Kihyun singing You Can’t Hold My Heart acoustically along with Jooheon singing another English track that I watch a lot 🤭 I don’t know what’s going on in that music video either though haha. It’s always interesting hearing reactions to their English discography because personally I feel like both their English and Japanese discographies are adjusted for those markets, while also still a very natural progression from their previous Korean tracks especially the rnb/pop ones. There are many bsides I feel that if the rap sections were taken out would fit well alongside many of their English tracks. And there are songs like You Can’t Hold My Heart that sound a bit more in line with their Japanese discography to me. 😊

But the release of the album and the other MVs (You Can't Hold My Heart, Beside U) happened after he left, so he didn't participate in the MVs or promotions, but you can hear him on every song. Also, you're right, their English albums are not K-POP, it's more like pop, because they tend to target more the international radio and audience.
