He’s always snacking mid fight and we’ve seen him cut/slice, use fire/heat, and this episode he used water against his enemy, almost like a visual metaphor for boiling water for a meal/drink. Maybe I’m looking too much into the ‘Malevolent Kitchen’ translation but I’ve heard that’s a translation error? I’m sitting here wondering though, given his powers… is it?

I really hope the animators get the time they need now. Rushed and low quality episodes, because the animators dont get enough time, would be the worst for everybody.

Besides Sukuna's domain and Mahoraga, another thing is that as far as I know, Sukuna's two techniques are always translated "Cleave" and "Dismantle" but in this ep they called them "Fillet" and "Dissect".

It's reminiscent of the genocide caused by Sukuna... I saw this topic being talked about, so I'd like to share my opinion about MAPPA. MAPPA is in a lower position than the production committee. A production committee has the advantage that the financial burden of producing an anime can be shared among participating companies and sponsors. However, the problem is that difficult for creator's opinions to reach them🥲 They receive income from Blu-rays, distribution rights, and merchandise, they also have a lot of influence in setting budgets and schedules. MAPPA will try to meet their demands. MAPPA's failure to be on the side of creators is a problem, but the production committee who don't understand the burden placed on creators are even more foolish...

2023-11-17 00:46:03 +0000 UTCAbsolute peak episode whats amazing is that almost all the cuts of this fight are anime original, they added so much to it you can tell the animators have a real passion for JJK, but as everyone has been talking about how great the animation is i just wanted to shout out the music, the song that played when sukuna used his domain was incredible. Also a note on the subtitles, im not sure why the crunchyroll subs were calling Malevolent Shrine malevolent kitchen, along with the shikigami being called Mahoraga instead of Makora in the manga, ive seen a bunch of people assume that sukunas domain was different to season 1 because of this translation, however, i can assure you its the same, just alot more powerful. Overall insane episode though the fact that the animators have been able to put out such high quality on short schedule is just insane so make sure to give your love to them rather than mappa the company.
