If you start watching season 2 just know that the first part of the episode was a cliffhanger we had to wait for 4 years to get closure!

It is very fitting for witch of envy to act like that, it's such a simple thing, but I didn't really think about it in that way. The screwed up part is that Witch of Envy killed Emilia few episodes ago because Subaru didn't care what would happen to him, it's like she's aware that Subaru still has way to go so she's even willing to kill "herself" or her "vessel"

2023-06-23 21:28:20 +0000 UTCSubaru has probably the greatest single season character arc I’ve seen so far. This show truly made me fall in love with anime. One of the biggest takeaways for me is how it debunks and destroys the fairy tale/Hollywood idea of love. Subaru learned what loving someone really looks like, it’s often hard and painful and requires you to stop thinking about yourself. To lay down your “pride” interestingly enough. Hats off the screenwriters and director who were able to take 9 volumes of the novel and turn it into a superbly paced tv season. Tbh, I think the show is way better than the books I have not rewatched S2 yet so I’m looking forward to seeing what I can get out of it this time I will make an observation about Return by Death to close it out. When Subaru tries to speak of it, Satella grabs his heart. As the witch of envy it would make sense for her to do that… basically she wants to keep him all to herself

2023-06-23 05:03:07 +0000 UTCThere was a few years in between seasons so I wouldn't be surprised if they thought they'd only get that one season so they stopped it at a good place to end. And that is the brilliance of the writing that there are questions that can be said to be cliffhangers but it's done so masterfully you don't see the questions right away. I can't wait for season 2. Not saying it's more traumatic than season 1, just that I cried more in Season 2 than season 1. It's a really good show.

Btw you were theorizing about Suabaru becoming Petelguese in the future, back in episode 18 when possessed Subaru was laughing like him :D Well it happened but probably not how you expected. I´m looking forward to the s2 and ovas. Great reactions thanks for the extra episode as well.
