Yeah, it was really interesting to see Thorkell and his group talking about Christanity and it makes sense that Vikings would think that way. I also like how Askeladd's group was a bit more curious in the next episode in comparison to them when they were talking about it as well and they seemed genuinely interested. As someone who likes learning about different cultures and religions I really appreciate it.

2023-02-01 12:10:01 +0000 UTCThat scene at the beginning of the episode is kinda underrated, it’s always interesting to see in historical fiction how two different cultures react to each other’s traditions whether by poking fun at them (mostly what Thorkell and his men did lol) or by trying to understand how that culture functions. I just love how realistic it is like yeah it makes sense that the vikings would see the Christians as worshippers of a “weak” god and the Christians (mostly Ragnar in this scene) would see the viking as “childish” and single minded individuals with how obsessed they are with battle, neither of them is depicted as right or wrong it’s just differences in perspective. And the ending of that scene with them all agreeing that liquor god is best god is just clever writing on Yukimura’s part
