2023-11-11 20:14:58 +0000 UTCNot sure if anyone's ever mentioned it or not, but Marlo Thomas, the actress that plays Rachel's mother, was a pretty well known actress in her own right. She had her own series named "That Girl", which ran from 1966 to 1971. Her father was Danny Thomas, who was also a very famous actor/philanthropist and is well known for "The Danny Thomas Show", which ran from 1953 to 1964, as well as founding St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which exists to treat childhood cancer patients (and probably other fatal types of illnesses) and the families never get charged for any of the services (food, lodging or treatments).
