I think it’s also good to remember to try and not look at this solely through 21st century glasses. This was 70 years ago and a lot has changed since then! some of these people wouldn’t have had much more than a primary school education or a high school education, many would have started working at 14/16. It can be simple to look back and be like oh gosh how do they not know... but the pure fact is most of them didn’t because they weren’t educated to those levels. Education was for the wealthy and in this case the wealthy didn’t stop it. I find it interesting that even back in the 13th century the big companies were breaking the rules though to increase profits... I guess humans don’t change much... we all have the potential for great selfishness.

A cautionary tale to be sure...stupidity is its own reward. Although it was a serious and tragic event, I couldn't help finding the difficulty the captions had with British accents amusing.
