The Lost Daughter

Comments

I'm sorry you didn't end up truly caring for the film, but thank you for doing it, anyway.

Ryan Moore

I made it.....but barely....the most disturbing thing for me was the part where this family was dominating the place she stayed.....well she got to involved because of her past....the doll thing was difficult to understand....I guess, when she saw the little girl wetting and biting the doll and it reminded her of the doll that her daughter messed up. Her husband wasn't cheating, however, he left her alone for a long period of time and she was overwhealmed doing her work and taking care of her daughters alone. But he said he couln't do that, when she was leaving.....I think she fell out of love with him, when he had left her alone for that time. So when she met her lover, who worshipped her work and seduced her (like Leda in the mythology was seduced by a disguised God...and she called him that), her husband was still away....and from what I remember in the first part of the movie, when she tried to work and it was his turn to care for the kids, he didn't care. Also, when they were taking up the people in the cottage, and there was this Italian woman, who loved her poetry and Italian, something that she never got from her husband......I think that total connection about the things that moved her on a higher intellectual level was missing in the marriage. That is what made her happy the most. And by leaving her alone with the daughters, he deprived her of that happiness with her work. She had some good moments with her kids and she knew how to care for them. I think, the love for her husband died, because he was selfish with his work and it was natural for him to leave her and the kids alone. He wasn't able to do what she did. It really is hard, if your work is more important. I love how you manage to get work-life- balance right <3 kudos to you and Tania <3 I hope it will go on for you this way and I hope, moving to Australia will make it even better for you guys. <3
