About what you said of what if the world didn't have super-heroes, I don't know if the world would be better or worse but about the Thanos part that you said, yes Thanos would definitely have come anyway, his goal was to erase half of the whole universe so the other half could have all the food, the space, etc... that they want. His goal had nothing to do with killing heroes. So if he would have come anyway, you might as well have heroes to at least try to stop him.
