When I saw the barbed wire (not invented until the nineteenth century) early in the film, it was lost to me. Tie all the well-known characters and places to a reality-based historical context, then twist a convoluted ancient conflict in and you might as well give him a shield and call him Captain Briton. And Marvel would have done it better. Give me Monty Python any day. I give Dillon the heart for enduring it.
