Regarding Venice, if climate predictions are accurate, many coastal cities will suffer the fate of Atlantis in decades to come.

There was a cheesy, low-budget retelling of the Atlantis myth from 1961 that seemed closer to the usual story. But it's all subject to interpretation. Good way to start April, mate.

I've been so excited for this one !
Thankyou tier 5 member who requested this. I crossed it of my list :D.
- The animation of this film really stands out compared other Disney/ Pixar and even Dreamwork animations. Its a mixture of 2D and 3D and still handdrawn a certain way that really fits the theme of the film.
- I always had/have the biggest crush on Kida and Helga (Helga in the beginning and at the end when she shoots the gun. Not the Helga in between, im not into criminals hehe :p).
- I also like the character development of all the characters.
But ofcourse, especially Milo.
No one believed him / in him, but he never gave up. His determination to find Atlantis made his dream come true. Everyone thought he was a weak nerdy boy. We all see that during the film he is very intelligent and at the end he was the bravest of them all!
- I really love this film. I think the animation style, which is one of a kind, and the story itself is very good.
I personally love history. Its a big mystery to find out what happened in the past and if certain events even did happen. Everyone speculates but without real evidence, we will never know the truth.
The path to knowledge and finding the truth is really interesting and fascinating to me. And i think it being such a big mystery, is what gets me the most.
Who says it didnt exist? Who says that there wernt civilisations who had more knowledge than the people of today? Maybe they went extinct or they pretend to be extinct, so no one will find them.
Its also a truthfull story. There are alot of humans who look for these places to find out what happened and gain knowledge. They also look for the treasures without disturbing and disrespecting what is there.
And then you have people like Rourke who has a high position, is able to take the lead and use that to make this mission about money. How he can make himself better without thinking of the damage he does to other people, because in his mind, he is the main character.
Loved your reaction Dillon!

Reportedly, Disney WANTED to do Jules Verne’s “Journey to the Center of the Earth”, but the directors thought that was too “boring”, and wanted an imitation-Verne story with “more monsters” in it. By that point, though, there wasn’t time or budget for more monsters besides the lobster-thingy, so they filled the first half up with Milo getting more wacky two-for-flinching.
