Wanda Vision Episode 2

Comments

The problem I couldn’t get past when the series aired was the cheap shot at what the current binge-streaming generation thinks were “classic TV sitcoms”, full of sweet unliberated housewives and gibbering laughtracks. Wanda’s second fantasy (the 60’s, one decade per episode), and the house set from the 50’s Ep. 1, is supposed to resemble Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore in “The Dick Van Dyke Show” (for those who remember Van Dyke from “Mary Poppins”), which, in the real world, was one of the SMARTEST, funniest, and most contemporary sitcoms to come out of classic B&W TV. For one thing, Moore’s character may have been a housewife with perky hairspray-bobbed hair, but she did not wear sweet 50’s dresses—She was a dancer and wore tight Capris pants, which was pretty bold for the JFK 60’s. 😛 You don’t have to react to one, Dillon, but at least let us know if you’ve seen any of the original—Three of its episodes ranked in the top ten of TV Guide’s 100 Funniest Tv Episodes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vU7Dzd16Tn4

I love how into this you are, Dillon. There are a lot of reactors who can't get past the confusion as to what's going on and are really put off by the old format, the black and white, or the laugh track. I love how you just roll with the what the fuckery, and just find it funny or creepy when you're meant to. I think Strucker was the name of the German guy who was making Wanda and her brother work for Hydra in the original MCU movies. Or what that the oganization's name? Well, anyway, it has something to do with when Wanda and Pedro were working for Hydra.
