Planning for Aegir and other things
Added 2022-11-30 17:16:05 +0000 UTCHi, sorry I'm late with uploads again, there have been a lot of bottlenecks this month, mostly in regards to audio work as per usual. I will be having to take drastic measures to hopefully have the issue resolved. In the meantime I've finally readied my new Evie model which I will be testing out on an animation with her. That should hopefully fill the void of animations that exists curently and leave you wanting for more with her. You'll be seeing a lot of her I can assure you already.
During Novermber I was feeling very exhausted working non stop 13-14 hours a day for almost two years, having a lot of people put immense pressure on me or people badmouthing me for not making animations of their favorite characters was very stressful and that combined with the bleak outlook of the future of europe had been dragging me down severly. Now after having been forced to take a short break , I'm back with full force and you will be seeing a big wave of new animations coming soon.
The more important topic at hand is Aegir. I'm going to be spending the majority of December working on her animation which is estimated to be roughly 10 minutes long. If all things go well, it will be ready for christmas, but please take it with a grain of salt as there can always be a lot of unexpected issues when working on such a huge animation project. To negate this, I'm going to be posting a few shorter animations as well and maybe even the second half of Poppi, although no guarantees on that.
Something I've been wanting to add to the animation but have been unsure about was an extra growth sequence. Many people are not a fan of first person growth and to tackle this I figured I could make a sort of prelude that takes place before the events of the full animation as a sort of testing grounds for the technology that is used on her. The scenario would involve her growing inside and out of a lab environment as seen in the image sequence, it serves as a storyboard for that scenario. Please let me know waht you think of the idea, sorry for being lazy and writing a wall of text and thank you again for your support!

I would totally understand if you drop the number of small animations and just take your time on larger ones I look forward to your content every day I love any content but I don't want you to overwork so I wouldn't mind if you dropped a few small animations just to lower the amount of hours you have to put in don't overwork your self your great at what you do! And your content is better than anybody I've seen!! No need to stress your self out trying to put out quantity you already give us amazing quality

I enjoy this pseudo inner monologue and candid means by which you address us. If there’s anything I’d take away from this read, it’s further reinforcement of why I support you so wholeheartedly. While on the topic of words and being an admitted follower of yours on your other socials. I do so appreciate your wit and humour that you express in each respective post across every platform. The extra thought and care are well appreciated as you take the time to give each post a unique feel. I’m wholly convinced that the best way to enjoy a post of yours to the fullest, is to give each social in turn a visit. Equally, characters of the word variety are not your only speciality seeing that I’ve had the good fortune of seeing what’s instore as ‘characters’ being brought to life in the no way ‘close chested’ Evie reveal. It seems we’ll be plenty in supply and demand in what is sure to be a reciprocal market endeavour. I’m shocked and appalled at how these individuals have acted towards you. I only hope, to which I’m very much encouraged having read many of the comments here, that we can support you in greater measure. You’re truly a kind person Lajest and I want to ensure you can keep being you. A break can be good for a variety of reasons, sometimes we need to step back and take count. I’m glad, albeit forced, that you had some time to yourself. Rest is important and there’s not a soul that can say you don’t deserve it. I’m elated that Aegir will be getting much of your attention come December. I can only imagine as to what such extra time and focus will yield! This is going to big! For a variety of reasons~ With the smaller animations always being appreciated. I’d be crazy if I ever uttered the thought of not wanting an extra growth sequence. Added, I do like the use of first person, on both sides, and can say that it’s nice seeing what the protagonist sees or rather does not see in relation to the ‘impediments’ to their vision. If you ever feel the want to do such a perspective in the future, know I’m here for it! Loving stories and world building, the idea of a prelude is nothing short of brilliant. What with the expansion it grants to the scene and the character themselves. Their motivations and actions having greater meaning in the ensuing acts. This to say nothing of the fact that I adore the idea of self-made monsters. Something akin to humanities’ arrogance made manifest and being the harbingers of our own destruction. The previews themselves are gorgeous, it’s as if I’m seeing teaser posters for an upcoming cinema debut! With her bursting out of the building being my favourite shot. Got to love big girls in cramped spaces, the raw destruction caused by extension of their growth and the physical acknowledgement that they now play by a different scale. There’s something exciting about the concept of running out of room whilst that very space is being occupied and warped to bend to that which it’s trying to contain, with the inevitable conclusion of giving out against the unstoppable tide. Suffice to say, growth in and outta building is great! I’m 100% down for the proposed idea pitched in the storyboard. The subtly placed channel logo is a reference I thoroughly approve of. I like the idea that the reality you’ve conjured contains self-inserts that at least for me form a bridge between us and the work itself. Not to mention it’s good for branding! Then I got to wonder… given its’ design, perhaps the chopper alludes to a potential escape? And the question of which of the two is faster: flight speed or growth~ Having said all that, I believe all that’s left to say is “It’s so cool, sonuvabitch.”

You will be able to iron out any modeling trouble on a shorter render project. That will save you time and frustration on the larger 10 minute project. Good project management.

2022-11-30 18:53:54 +0000 UTCI think you put in an astounding amount of effort and are probably the best content creator when it comes to animated size. I feel like you do need breaks though and part of the reason may be that you're widening your scope too much? You have a LOT in the backlog, and tend to start new stuff while other things are WIP. I really think you should focus on narrowing down what you have to finish, decide what you don't want to finish, and get things more manageable before you keep adding and adding on top of your pile. Regarding the aegir animation, I don't think it needs that extra sequence in the lab. It would just kinda pad things IMO, and it's just extra work. Focus on the meat of the animation-- I say, but it's really up to you!

I'm certainly not someone who's going to complain at you for taking too long or not making animations of things I want, as far as I'm concerned you're making stuff you like and I also happen to like and that's why I support you. If other people think they're entitled to your time, effort, and experience, they can go fuck themselves and learn animation on their own to make the things they want to see. If you don't take breaks and keep yourself well rested your quality will decrease just as it would if you rush things just to meet arbitrary deadlines which will probably make you more and more unhappy and stressed as a creator. Don't get me wrong, its important business wise to be reliable and to do what you said you would do when you said you would do it, but not at the expense of your health. So don't commit to more than you can reasonably handle and things should be fine.

Regarding Aegir, it catches my attention a lot, it’s better than the first person, I really want to see it when it’s finished.
