By the time we get to Captain Marvel (which is soon), you’ll find that it’s better to hate the villain than hate the hero. And the “real” Mandarin isn’t in Iron Man 3, he’s in Shang-Chi, but I haven’t worked up the sufficient desire to risk a theater showing or pay for streaming.

2021-11-11 14:02:09 +0000 UTCIn all honesty... Ego is by far the worst villain throughout the entire Marvel Universe. I hate him. I love Kurt Russell as an actor, but I really hate this character he plays, which is why Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, for me is one of the worst movies within this universe. I much rather would have preferred the mystery of Peter's father to remain a mystery over this storyline. I enjoy this overall movie for the rest of the characters, especially because of the relationships that are forged together in Peter and Yondou, in Gamora and Nebula, and in a deep friendship forged in Rocket, Groot, and Yondou too. And both Yondou and Nebula become members of the Guardians of the Galaxy which I love. Plus... we also gain a new character and member of the Guardians in Mantis, who I really like as a character. I think the only other movie within the MCU that I dislike more than this one... is The Incredible Hulk with Edward Norton... again, another actor I really love as an actor too, but The Incredible Hulk just feels very disconnected from the rest of the movies within this universe. And the only other villain I hate almost as much as Ego... is the Mandarin within Iron Man 3. Again... Ben Kingsley is a fantastic actor, but he plays a rotten character.
