Making a simple body!

Mostly with citrus head dolls, I like to make extremely simple bodies from time to time to get that cute noodle silhouette, here’s how I do it:

Here’s a skeleton!

With the help of some hot glue on the "spine," I wrap some stuffing around the dolls core

I then wrap a strip of fleece around the torso a couple times around, until I get the width I want. The strip is slightly oversized. I hot glue it to keep it in place.

I sew closed the top and bottom of the body burrito to get a nice round shape

I add a neck by wrapping a small strip of fleece to the width I want

I cut down the wire for the limbs, I cut a little at a time and dry fit the limbs between each cut until I get them to a length I’m happy with. I do a lot of eyeballing.

I mark where the limbs sit with a silver sharpie and set them to the side

I once again cut strips to length for the arms, wrapping them tightly to get a nice form

Repeated for the legs

And one last dry fit! That is how I make a simple noodle body for my dolls!

Thank you so much for joining me for my first Patreon post! I appreciate your kindness so much, especiallly as we’re going to be trying to move soon.

Thats right! It's a strip of fleece each limb, wrapped around for torso, legs, arms, and hot glued on the back. I stitch the top and bottom of the torso closed and also sew the legs and arms to the torso so they don't slide down

long overdue pledge here :~) do you sew the backs of the arms and legs or are they just rolled on and hot glued like the torso? i assume the torso doesn't have seams apart from the shoulders and bottom but correct me if i'm wrong!!

This is so helpful thank you so much!!! If you don't mind me asking what specific sort of wire do you use for the armatures?
