I don't defend his actions, but Finn literally has to learn through his experiences on how to mature. He has no education, no other humans around to help understand what he's going through( pretty sure it's puberty), and only through ignorance will he learn of his wrongdoings. Thankfully, he does, as he gets older throughout the show.

He sees what the lemon people are going through and how seriously PB is treating it, but he doesn’t seem to care about what they’re going through. Instead, he’s just using the situation to try to rebound with PB and get over Flame Princess. Like, no, Finn, the takeaway from this situation wasn’t that older people are less fun I mean just look at Jake! The take away is that you need to start being more mature and thinking about how your actions affect other people. This situation was really important to PB; Finn didn’t care at all unless he got what he wanted. And he still doesn’t even seem realize why Flame Princess is so mad at him. He thinks he can just say “sorry” and fix everything without actually working on himself or thinking about why what he did was hurtful. He’s just trying to jump right back into the relationship immediately. So, yeah, I can definitely see why you’d feel a way about Finn after this episode.

2025-05-30 20:47:28 +0000 UTCFinn grew on me later seasons. I think the reason why Finn is shown in that episode as ignorant/jerk tone is due to them trying to balance the audience hate/love factor in the PB and Finn relationship arc. because usually its PB that seems like a jerk.
