From what I interpret, Viktor has been trying to do the right thing, but I the last episode, it was implied that the caped person told Jayce that he needed to kill Viktor to prevent that destroyed world. But I'm pretty sure they're both morally grey characters and have their reasons for the things they do. I would definitely watch some YouTube videos to try and understand things, cuz I suck at explaining things, lol

2024-12-28 18:16:19 +0000 UTCat the end of episode 6 viktor goes on about how emotion can cause us to do things for the better but can also cause us to do things for the worst like how the doctor is trying to save his daughter from death as he loves which we would consider a good thing to do however in order to do this he made shimmer which resulted in suffering for the lower city - same thing with jayce he thought killing viktor is the right thing to do and he was doing to save the world however he unintentionally caused vander to go crazy and that whole fight scene to take place - this glorious evolution that he refers to is basically creating a hive mind of people (he mentions that all his followers are connected and are one with each other) where emotion wont exist and get in the way to cause harm - you can see that viktor wants to do good hes just not going about it in the right way anymore which is what jayce is trying to stop as hes seen the result of this in the other world. not sure if you have seen the final yet but i suggestion watching videos explain these episode on yt either way as they cover things that you may have missed or might not have understood. :)
