iOS Patreon Update + Future Plans

Today, Patreon has informed us that all Patreon supporters will be pushed to a subscription based service in November of this year. This is in accordance to Apple's demands, where they will take a 30% cut of what you give to Patreon. Note that this will not impact current pledged Patrons for now. If you are pledged via iOS, I recommend canceling your support before then and resupporting through other means.
I'm hearing word of people I support planning on moving. Unless specified otherwise, I will remain on Patreon. It's where everyone is, and I don't want to splinter people off of their primary platform. It never works well. That being said though, I will potentially look into Kofi as a potential backup. If I do switch over, there will be a month in advance warning just out of courtesy.

This is an Apple decision. Patreon's hands are unfortunately tied here.

2024-08-12 22:27:15 +0000 UTCThank you for the update. Odd that I’m finding out an important bit of information from you rather than any announcement from Patreon itself, but I won’t complain. So if we want to support patrons, we have to pay an additional charge to just use the site? I don’t think I can say anything more about than expressing it is bad.
