January 2024 - Opening Year Plans

TL;DR - I go over what was discussed in the form. Poll suggestions will be up on the 4th.

Hey everyone, thank you for your continuous support. I thought I'd post the results of the form I sent out, and give my plan for the new year. I won't use the word "resolution", because that implies that I'm going to be one-hundred percent committed to it.

For the "TL;DR", I've been informed that the diversity of the characters I bring to you could be better tallied out, which is something I've wanted to experiment with for a while either way. I'll be taking occasional (or more than occasional) steps out of my comfort zones for characters outside of properties I more commonly draw from.

I'll also be sticking to the two poll strategy, one voted on by Lard and Melted Butter tier, the other curated by me. This is because the method was more popularly voted on by individuals.

When it came to my Original Character content, it seems to be a split. While yes, my Patrons are a small minority of my audience, I feel as though you are the most dedicated of fans in some regards. I could have worded these answers a BIT better, but when I put down the answers "Yes, and I mind that" versus "No, and I think that's a good thing", I meant the answers to come off as "I don't particularly want to see this content". Apologies for any confusion.

From what I've read, 2023 has an even split in comparison to my OCs being overshadowed, versus them overshadowing other potential pieces. The OC "universes" came in a near close tie, with Witch Knight and the Mystery Dungeon fan-fiction series coming out in the highest demand. When it came to Pokemon content, while there are some of you who feel as though I had too much of a focus, you tended to prefer it, while others minded/didn't want too much of a Pokemon focus.

Suggestions I was given from you all were to experiment more with varieties in shapes, like bigger torsos, shorter legs, and other such, while for characters, I should experiment more with stuff I have either barely dabbled in or haven't touched at all. Darkstalkers, Bug Fables, Helluva Boss, Picayune Dreams, and Disgaea were all that were mentioned. A lot of demons, from what I can see...

Personal goals this year are to finish the chronological stories of Witch Knight. I've fully decided that these tales are meant to be little pieces of the world of the universe, whereas pieces following serve more as possible scenarios that can happen in said world. This storyline will probably end somewhere that leaves the story up to interpretation, so the possibility of returning to add onto the canon can still be up for grabs for me. As for Buttery's Mystery Dungeon, I have a clear story in mind and I'd love to see how far I can get this year. Kiss My Kats might not get another story this year, not out of lack of interest, but because of lack of creativity. I might experiment elsewhere with the Gelato-verse, if you will.

Sorry if I came off like some kinda big-wig in a suit speaking like this, but I wanted to let you all know that I am trying to listen to feedback.
