SciShow Patreon(s) Update
Added 2021-03-12 23:09:59 +0000 UTCHello SciShow Patrons! We have an exciting announcement: SciShow Space and SciShow Psych are getting their own Patreon accounts!
Up until now, SciShow’s Patreon has served as the Patreon for SciShow’s main channel, SciShow Space, and SciShow Psych. But over the years, each show has developed different needs, different goals, and different audiences. One Patreon for all three shows doesn’t make sense anymore. We want patrons to be able to support the channel they’re most invested in and we want to understand each channel, individually.
We hope that creating separate Patreons for each channel will help us do just that!
How does this affect you, our current SciShow Patron?
We’ll be updating our Patreon on April 1, 2021 (no, this isn’t an April Fool’s joke). Most current SciShow Patreon tiers and benefits will stay the same, with the exception of live streams. As we announced last week, we won’t be hosting monthly Patreon live streams anymore.
If you are a part of the $6 “Livestream With Team SciShow” tier, or the $100 “Reserved Google Hangout Spot w/ SciShow” tier, your tier will be unpublished. You’ll still be a Patron and will receive the benefits of the tiers below yours. You are welcome to change your pledge amount and choose a new tier, or keep it as is.
We are also introducing a new $8 tier for the brand new SciShow Newsletter! Every month we’ll be publishing a newsletter that will include a unique mix of behind-the-scenes photos, interviews with the team, sneak peeks into what our writers are researching, and news on upcoming projects!
No other tiers will be impacted by this update.
New Patreons for SciShow Psych and SciShow Space will launch on March 29th. If you’re a fan of either of those channels we encourage you to check out their Patreons at: patreon.com/SciShowPsych and patreon.com/ScishowSpace.
They each have their own set of benefits, which you can check out once the Patreons are launched!
Our spin-off podcast, SciShow Tangents, also has its own Patreon now! And the SciShow Kids Patreon will be re-activated on April 1st.

2021-03-13 00:05:59 +0000 UTCFor the time being yes, every Patron of a SciShow channel/show will have access to all of the SciShow discord channels. With the exception of new Discord channels made just for the Patrons of each show.

So the SciShow Psych newsletter will be about Psych episodes and related topics, Scishow Space newsletter will be all about space, and the SciShow newsletter (the main channel's) will be about regular SciShow episodes and general science news.
