Need Your Best Alien Races Ideas

Good morning, my friends!

As we roll into book 4, I am working on catching up on edits I want to finish prior to posting too much of the book so you don't have to re-read things. The book is already great, but the planned edits will make it so much better.

Given that challenge, I plan to post a new chapter once per week on Wednesdays through December. By then, I'm hoping to be caught up. And I hope to post additionally on Fridays with other cool content, including snippets from the audiobook!

Today, I'd love it if you could put your fantasy thinking caps on.

In the not-distant future in the story, I'll be introducing some additional alien races. You've already gotten a glimpse of some wider multiverse players in those interludes I posted a couple weeks back, and you've met bosses from other worlds. That idea is going to be expanded.

So I'm looking for alien races AND ideas for magical focus for their worlds.

Some ideas I'm kicking around already:

1. A hive-mind species, not individually strong, but powerful as a whole. Not sure of magical focus yet. Perhaps a way to combine their power to boost spells.

2. A race of large humanoid sentient cats, with a lot of attitude and such overwhelming self-confidence that they've managed to win a rather unique variation on the system.

3. A race totally obsessed with physical appearance. Tons of potential, but hyper-focused on looking better. Likely will have glamours.

4. A race with two bosses. Once is a 'durability caster' - they can sacrifice the durability of an item all the way to destroy it in order to gain a one-time powerful boost to a spell or ability. Second boss creates golems or summoned creatures and can sacrifice an item to boost that golem and grant it the ability(s) of that sacrificed item.
   So they burn through a TON of items.
   All other members of their race are dedicated to supporting these bosses - they are all crafters - pumping out tons of low-grade but high durability items with a single powerful ability. or they are thieves, whose entire focus is stealing items from others.
   These guys could be a lot of fun.

5. Another race has a boss, but their powers are focused on buffing their people, and the buffs get stronger the closer other people are to them. So they would be most powerful in a close phalanx where their people become super powerful as long as they stay close.

6. Maybe a group of suicidal berserker warriors who can burn through their own life force to become immensely powerful for a very short period.

Thoughts? Which of these interest you the most?

Any ideas about adding detail to any of these?
