Pacers Mailbag: Answering questions following Game 1

By: Caitlin Cooper I @C2_Cooper

As promised, this month's patron-only mailbag is coming in the form of exclusive bonus segments at the end of the off-day recap podcast videos that are being released in between each of the playoff games for the Pacers. This is the first installment featuring questions about what the team gains with Pascal Siakam and has lost without Bennedict Mathurin, as well as a deeper dive on how the Pacers can potentially add secondary actions to empty pick-and-rolls as a counter for the way in which the Bucks are funneling Tyrese Haliburton to his left.

Enjoy the pod and keep sending questions. This is my way of saying thank you for supporting me and my pursuit of the Basketball Arts. You're all champions to me!

Nice mailbag segment

Thanks for the answer! I should have also mentioned in my question-because it is probably more relevant to this series-that I believe the Hawks also used this to success in the first 2 games against the Bucks against Portis or Lopez. I always think about this because of the infamous (in my mind) off the backboard alley oop to John Collins in the ECF, which was on Portis with Lopez helping late. After watching it, they used it as almost a secondary action and started from the middle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEynghuXMP0
