My PC Server 500 uses ID 6 for the service partition or whatever IBM called the partition with ADFs, But it does boot from other IDs

Not sure if this is true of this gear, but older IBM SCSI gear wants the bootable drives to have HIGH numbers, like 6 (as the adapter is usually 7) instead of 0. Probably not important with a single drive but if you set multiple drives on a BlueSCSI it might matter - if you can get the BlueSCSI to work with your IBM adapter. I have not been able to do it in my PS/2s. They work fine with an Adaptec adapter, but not with the IBM. Why did IBM want you to go down from 6 instead of up like most everyone else? Because if you look at that standard, that how it's SUPPOSED to work. Everyone else does it backwards from the original standard.

Love seeing these old system P servers up and running. They are built like tanks and are awesome machines.
