Merlin Phones

I should've waited one day to film that last video, the Merlin phones have started to show up. Notice one branded Lucent, the Merlin line had a very long lifespan. The AT&T branded one went out of warranty in 1986. I'm happy to have two of the metal stands, my understanding is they eventually switched to plastic.

Awh man so cool, ever thought of getting a Nortel BCM and running some older nortel phones?

I used a Merlin phone system for the first 4 years of my time at my employer. It seems to be a newer and much more capable one, it supported 16 analog lines plus had a T1 module for 23 more call paths. We also had well north of 50 phones connected to the system and the voicemail was handled by a DOS PC with a 6-line modem card and the Merlin software. It's long gone now and was replaced by a ShoreTel VoIP system. The phones were all plastic and had a 2 or 3 line LCD with 8 line buttons and the usual feature buttons. I do not miss that system 😂
