Iomega Incoming
Added 2024-10-11 03:45:03 +0000 UTCI've always been fascinated by Iomega, the Zip 100 drives of course being my first experience with them back in the day. But they made a ton of other stuff. I used to have a really big collection of Iomega stuff (the last three pictures), but donated it all during an apartment move about five years ago.
Well, I've started diving in again. The first two pictures are recent acquisitions. Also picked up a pair of Zip 100 drives at VCF Midwest. Not sure when but I'll definitely be covering this stuff in upcoming videos.

2024-10-24 23:02:39 +0000 UTCAs a nerdy / geeky kid I had a Zip drive but I always wanted a SCSI Jazz drive. As a matter of fact, I wanted any SCSI devices I could get my hands on. Sadly I never had the money at that point to get much of anything.

2024-10-13 03:54:39 +0000 UTCThat Zip battery pack, though! I've never even hard of that! I need to set up my Pentium II rig with Windows 95 OSR2 or Windows 98 to be able to use all of my Iomegas on one OS. (Zip 750 needs USB, Ditto needs "before Windows 2000".)

2024-10-11 16:53:14 +0000 UTCLooking forward to the videos. Zip disks were a required item for some of my classes in college. Floppies were too small, CD Burners weren't ubiquitous yet, flash memory was expensive. Really was the best way to carry larger projects around for a blink or two.
