Nice! Yeah I really enjoy Go as well, it's been super fun to use.

Haha thanks! Good news, I suspect some Cisco content will be on the way sooner rather than later!

I saw this video and KNEW I had to get your patreon. Didn't even have an account. I am not disappointed by this decision. SO excited for the IBM and Cisco content to come!

That's awesome! We started building out some Go microservices in work, I'm loving Go and been working on a few CLIs to automate the identification and naming of TV shows I rip from disc. Enjoy seeing you poke around some of these old systems and identifying some of the software stacks they're using.

I'm a backend Go developer, but I've only been using Go for ~2.5 years. Before that I'd say I was a fullstack JS dev and the beginning of my career was in software testing/QA and I did a lot of CI/CD automation work. I started out testing desktop apps so I have a soft spot for that (hence the books haha).

The programming books at the end are cool, I’d love to know more about what kinda software engineering you know / do!

I actually picked up a BlueSCSI recently, been thinking I need to try and get it used in one of these enterprise machines!

clabretro

I just happened to be watching another YouTuber and they were doing something with BlueSCSI. Wonder if it would work with these machines if finding working SCSI drives become prohibitive?

Love the ebay haul videos! Keep them coming!! I definitely need an itwatchdogs environment monitor for my own rack!

Ah very cool!

My eBay haul has consisted of iPod Video 5th gens and parts to mod them with iFlash cards and maybe a usbc connector if I can solder the tiny leads. I'm doing a blue iPod with blue clickwheel for podcasts and audiobook listening!

same here!

Got the email this was up just as I was about to go to sleep. Something about servers that do multi-CPU stuff with separate modules and chunky board-to-board connectors always fascinates me.
