Chapter 40 - More Ideas Than Heads
Added 2024-05-09 12:32:01 +0000 UTCAs soon as he entered the dealership, a smiling attendant came to greet him. The way he was dressed indicated two very serious things about him: I am going to spend on frivolous things and I need to spend urgently.
"Good evening, sir. Welcome to Aeroluy aerovehicle dealership. How can I assist you?" With a charming smile, the beautiful woman cared only about how much money she could earn in commission from this young man standing in front of her.
"Good evening. I am looking for some aerovehicles to buy. It's my first time, so I would have to rely on guidance here." Han Sen looked around the store, at all those vehicles on display, and felt nostalgic for the time when he used to steal cars to survive in his old world. Despite being a genius, he was as poor as a rock, with no one to take care of him.
"Well then, you can follow me." Still smiling, the saleswoman began the process of explaining the aerovehicle at a beginner baby level. After all, there was no point in using technical terms with someone who was unfamiliar with the item.
Walking around for a while, Han Sen was absorbing all the knowledge, albeit futile, and was understanding how these vehicles worked. Featuring hydrogen-powered engines and turbines, most of its job is only for acceleration and power. The rest of the movement is controlled by microthrusters that evolved from rocket technology and the chemical reactions that generate heat and gas. In other words, don't stand under one of these thrusters when it has just been turned on.
After carefully looking at all the models, he became interested in three different vehicles. One was a sports aerocar with an aerodynamic design, but at the same time, it provided comfort inside the car and didn't focus solely on speed. He found it very beautiful, he just didn't like the color, that could be changed thanks to color-changing technology. Besides this aerocar, he also liked an aeromotorcycle that matched the design, and he sincerely wanted to see how fast it could go. And based on the descriptions and good reviews from the salesperson, he knew he could easily have both.
And last but not least, he bought a modern and comfortable air car for Luo Sulan and Han Yan to move around the city without having to take the train every time.
He would still have to take the train since the teleportation portal was not located in Safe Haven, but in a more distant city. It would be a waste of time and money to go there with this vehicles just because he now have them.
"In total, the three vehicles will amount to Ḻ$28,000,000, already with a discount. Can we proceed with the purchases?" Thanking the heavens for receiving a 1% commission on every sale, the attendant was almost falling in love with this handsome and wealthy man. Some dollar signs appeared in her eyes from time to time.
"Yes, you can proceed with the purchase. Both aerocars can be sent to this location, while I will use the aeromotorcycle right away." Providing an identity and delivery location, the process took very little time and soon his company had acquired three new aerovehicle. Well, better safe than sorry.
"I appreciate your purchase and hope you have a great journey home. And don't worry about the delivery of the vehicles, as they will be delivered very soon!" Seeing the delivery location and how he had made the purchase under a company name, the passion in the attendant's eyes was extinguished in that moment. Perhaps he was just a buyer for the company and not the owner of the vehicles. Still, it was good to earn a great commission.
"Do you know any weapon store around here?" Han Sen took advantage of being out shopping for himself and asked. He wanted to see if there was any equipment that might interest him, even if only minimally. After all, he still had the Upgrade System, and any weapon could be improved.
"There is indeed. I will give you the location, it's not far from here. It belongs to one of the companies of the Starry Group, so the products are of excellent quality!" Now she was more certain that he was just the buyer for some boss who was too lazy to go shopping. She sent him the location through his comlink after completing the purchasing and registration processes.
"Yes, for sure..." Han Sen felt his eye twitch a little, but still agreed to go there. After all, if he wanted to defeat the enemy, he should know him completely.
After leaving the dealership, he got on the aerobike and started it. Listening to the silent roar of the beast beneath him, with a sound as pleasant as possible, he put on a type of headphones and pressed a button on the side. A helmet covered his head in the same moment, and he looked fierce.
"Let's speed up, baby...”

Arriving at the store he didn't even want to see the name of, he began to wander around after refusing the saleswoman. He wanted to analyze the different types of weapons and, if possible, see which ones were military or for "civilian use". Although this is a era of peace, there are still civilian weapons available in case something happens and no one is left defenseless. Not everyone could be lucky enough to obtain a Beast Soul, and that's why there were cheaper weapons in the Alliance.
Weapons basically differed between heat weapons, energy weapons, or melee weapons. Heat weapons use thermal energy to display their power, whether it's a heat sword like a lightsaber, or a heat pistol that shoots hot projectiles capable of easily penetrating a steel barrier. Energy weapons are predominantly pistols, machine guns, or any weapon that shoots, even bows, as they have the technology to launch concentrated laser (light) energy projectiles that can heat the surface of any object they approach. And simpler melee weapons have no additional effect other than their lethality or sharpness.
After spending some time going back and forth in the store, carefully studying each type of weapon and its models, trying to understand how they could work, Han Sen stopped in front of a shelf that contained some famous bows and arrows from the Alliance, produced by the Starry Group.
Without saying anything, he passed right by them and left the store. Getting on his motorcycle, he went straight home.

"This is going to be more worth it than the other one, for sure..." Han Sen was once again in his room, smiling at a holographic screen in front of him.
His brilliant mind struck again, and now he was finishing shaping a knife that reached 40% Z-Steel without any breaking or failure issues. He could still go further, but he decided to stop at forty weapon designs today. He designed melee weapons solely because he didn't want to use too much EXP on it, spending 3,000 EXP to raise his Forging Skill and Mineral Engineering Skill to Level 5.
"7,500 EXP just today with things I could have avoided. I have to control myself more now. My points are approaching 20,000 EXP..." Seeing that only an intermediate amount was left, Han Sen decided to exercise more control over his brilliant ideas.
Even though he didn't regret it, it was still annoying to spend points just to avoid wasting time on it. Despite not being a scholar, he still enjoyed the natural process of learning, and therefore never improved any martial arts, relying only on constant practice to become good at them. It was a pity that the system didn't care at all and still demanded exorbitant amounts to improve it.
Sending a second set of files to Jade, this time with the name UpWar Company written in the title, Han Sen finally went to sleep with a calmer mind. Sleeping with these ideas in his head was tormenting, as they would only multiply endlessly.

"Two new company projects?" Jade's secretary was analyzing two projects simultaneously on her comlink and looked at her boss. "Miss Jade, how should we proceed with the opening of these two companies? Despite having the resources, the unnecessary expense of this could result in a decrease in earnings and interest from our clients.”
"It's not a futile expense, just get them started. Prepare the necessary staff and arrange a new branch for Into Pieces. I want this project up and running, and tell the marketing team to request an early commercial for MapleDecor." Jade didn't even blink and gave all the necessary instructions. She didn't complain about the two new problems that Han Sen threw at her to solve.
"I'll start now! Excuse me." The secretary stood up and went to her office to start organizing the progress of the project and try to minimize the amount of time needed to complete the task.
Sitting at the table and reading some documents, Jade chuckled a bit and shook her head.
"Compete with the Starry Group in weapon development?" The smile lingered for a while, and just the thought of Han Sen working on all those projects like a madman made the smile grow wider, "I guess our craziness really goes well together..."
