I can do that! I'm grinding away on it all weekend, I'll try to make an update vid Sunday. I'll throw some eBay stuff in there too haha.

I would also very much be interested in seeing a video on the workout room reno, even if its just progress updates. I love me some building content haha

ConnerWithAnE

I could sneak that in sometime

clabretro

I would love to see a video showing off your laser disc collection!

ConnerWithAnE

What a nice place, sir! I hope to have a rack like yours one day!:)

Renato Frederick

Seems like you got a lot of good deals on retro gaming stuff. Nice to see you have stuff already ready for future projects. The "old enterprise hardware" niche is much less congested than the retro consumer or gaming ones, from what I can see on youtube.

Sven

They make very fitting set decoration for you if nothing else. Need to find yourself some of those classic Sun paperweight novels too (e.g., isbn 0138134553)

Ross Nelson

I really like the fifth edition, it's orange like that MFC book, got pretty well into it. But yeah they're paper weights for me, I'm no Windows programmer ha.

clabretro

The only one I bought was the Windows 8 one (6E?). It served me well on some early Win8-style stuff, but it's just not the same. I need to pick up one of the older editions for my collection-of-paperweights-that-I-keep-thinking-I'll-turn-into-some-useless-app-for-old-Windows-but-never-do.

Ross Nelson

Haha I know what you mean. I'm on a mission to have every version of Programming Windows by Charles Petzold... four down so far.

clabretro

I've got a stack next to my desk of recent purchases. Windows System Programming (4E), Proise's Programming Windows with MFC 2E, Inside COM, and The C++ Standard Library. Every time I add a new book to that pile, I question my sanity just a little more.

Ross Nelson

That room with the servers sits around ~75F basically all year, so not too bad. It can heat up quite a bit if I have several of the older machines running in there as well, but that's only ever for a couple hours at a time.

clabretro

I actually just picked up that MFC book last week ha. That's a CIB copy of Borland Quatro Pro for Windows. Haven't opened it up yet!

clabretro

I have that MFC book, acquired it pretty recently actually. Curious, what's in the big ol' Borland box next to the WRT boxes?

Ross Nelson

The Linksys stack conspicuously avoided, Haha. Thanks for the tour! I wish I had a server room space under the stairs, but how hot does it get in there?
