Chapter 9 - Finally, The Dark Crystal Appears

Inside a cave in the ordinary hunting ground of the Black Beetles. A figure could be seen leaning against the wall, with some Black Beetles walking very close, but passing straight by. It was as if this guy wasn't even there.
Han Sen was honestly almost falling asleep. It was already the second day he was in this cave and the sacred blood black beetle still had not appeared with his magical reward.
"If I see your golden ass around here, I'll kick you until there's only pulp left." Upset that he could be doing something more useful, Han Sen took a chocolate bar out of his bag and started eating. He had barely eaten a meal today and wouldn't go back to eating black beetle meat just because it was the only option.
Unfortunately, he had already eaten all of the primitive meat he had, otherwise he would satisfy his hunger now. In addition, this was his status after two months of constant hunting and feeding.

With the primitive genes complete, Han Sen was feeling much stronger than before. He avoided hunting mutant creatures due to the danger they posed, without first taking a look at the black crystal. And what about the various hunts for Sacred-Blood beasts? It only got worse, since he was a cheap perfectionist. Plus, his strength now wasn't even enough to tickle a Sacred-Blood creature.
Anyway, it hadn't been long since he maximized his primitive gene points, and he knew that made sense. The higher the tier of creatures, the bigger they tended to be. There were few exceptions of animals that were small and had a high tier. Because of this, the process of obtaining points was more time-consuming.
While lost in thought, a ray of light seemed to reflect off some object and hit him right in the eye. Covering his vision from the sudden light, he was graced with the sight of a cute and adorable creature in gold.
"I found you, you damn thing!" Han Sen jumped for joy, scaring off all the beetles that were there with him. Running to the creature, a maniacal smile appeared on his face as he grabbed the Scorpion Dagger, "Bye Bye, Baby!"
Pushi!
Stabbing the knife between the folds of the black beetle, the long-awaited notification that he had been waiting for graced his soul. It seemed like he had been waiting for an eternity for this, and he had finally gained the key to turn the world around.

Cutting the beetle in half, he searched for a little while before laying his hands on the most important object in this Sanctuary. It could very well be the most important object in the universe. So small and seeming so fragile, it even looked like it posed no danger the way it was. But a powerful tool like this was useful. Han Sen wasn't exactly sure what the potential of this little stone was, but if it remained a mystery up until the part he read, it meant it was very important.
"And now? Do I swallow this thing or do I feed beasts with it?" With this question in mind, Han Sen didn't need to think much. "It's better to feed weak beasts and wait for them to become Super Beasts. It would be a thousand times better..." He then put the black crystal inside a hidden pocket in his clothes, as a precaution.
Knowing there was an upper limit beyond sacred blood, Han Sen planned to let its main function go along that line for now. Although he could have as many super-level beast souls as he wanted, his Upgrade System couldn't upgrade live animals for him to kill and get more gene points. Therefore, he would have to follow this path for now.
Accessing his Beast Souls, Han Sen soon found a golden black beetle in the midst of all the others. He wouldn't test it now, leaving it to when he got to his room, but it was good to know that he could attract more powerful souls this way. One less worrying matter.
After throwing the corpse of the Golden Black Beetle onto the cloth, Han Sen quickly dashed to his room and locked himself inside. He spoke to many people on the way, showing tremendous urgency. He feared that the universe might conspire against him and somehow cause him to lose this huge benefit.
Once inside the room, Han Sen picked up a pot that was already prepared for this and filled it with water, placing it on the fire he lit in the middle of the room. Adding various spices, he submerged the entire beetle and watched as the boiling water began to soften all that meat and even remove the color from the shell.
Using several celestial cooking techniques, Han Sen took about five hours to prepare the entire beetle meat stew, leaving an irresistible fragrance in the air. Even what was left of the creature's shell he smashed into flour with a hammer beast soul. Even he, who made it, didn't know how to make the food so mysteriously delicious. Maybe it was the effects of his cooking skill, which he learned had a tremendous effect when consuming food.

With his Cooking skill already at Level 8, he had long become the cook of the house. His meals were highly nutritious for little Han Yan, as well as extremely delicious. Han Sen even predicted that the skill would reach the maximum level at Level 10, and he really wanted to taste his food by then.
The great potential of this skill lay in the fact that he could extract the maximum possible points from a beast the first time he ate it. Of course, he still had to follow the rule that he had to eat most of the beast, and that was a problem he would only face in the future.
After he prepared the stew, he grabbed a huge bowl and started drinking everything from the pot, not leaving even the slightest residue of food. As he ate, he could feel the incredible strength his body was capable of exerting.

As soon as he finished eating all the stew, he felt how the ten points he gained made an absurd difference. With just that, he became more powerful than all his previous efforts to fill the ordinary and primitive fields. This was a gigantic difference in quality.
Lying in his bed satisfied, Han Sen imagined his next steps.
"Now that I have obtained the crystal, I can be more reckless. Finally, I will start my activities outside and use the money I have earned so far. Not to mention, I need to create my own group within the First Sanctuary so that I can be on equal footing with Qin Xuan, Fist Guy, and Son of A Slut."
Knowing that everything started somewhere, he decided to do the first thing he could. Looking at his Beast Souls within himself, he decided to choose some to improve and thus have more success when hunting.
Unlike the original Han Sen, who relied on the Sacred Blood armor to begin hunting primitive beasts, he had already completed his gene points and could use the souls of beasts to hunt more creatures. He would only use the Golden Armor when he needed to hide his identity. Opening the Upgrade System panel, he used the remaining points to upgrade his skills to the desired level.

His current armor, which he used on hunting days, was made from the Black Spine Crocodile Beast Soul, a primitive beast. The two daggers were already known, leaving the last three beasts. All of them were small daggers, throwing knives that were not very useful for most people. But in Han Sen's hands, he could easily hit the eye of a moving beast if it was 25 meters away. He bought three of them to be safer, and as they evolved, different effects would appear.
Regarding the Spear, even if he was more skilled with it than with the daggers, he didn't have any that were worthy of an upgrade. He left to find one later that would serve his purposes. He still had one in his Beast Souls inventory, which was the Copper Tooth spear. But it wouldn't even compare to his weaker weapons now. He remembered that the creature in the novel, as it evolved, only increased its strength through metallic resistance. He wanted to find a spear that had at least a better effect than just being very sharp.
As he had 4716 EXP points, he decided to leave Level Up untouched in all of them and only do Tier Up. It didn't make much sense to spend EXP on something basic when he could make it improve a whole tier. Since the Tier Up to full Primitive, which was how he liked to call it, cost 250 EXP, he used it on his new armor and three throwing knives. The two daggers didn't need it because they had already been upgraded by the system. Therefore, he spent 1000 EXP, leaving only 3716 EXP available.
"Not enough yet, man..." Feeling his soul resonate and his Sea of Souls tremble with the energy imbued in these Beast Souls, he continued the upgrade process with them. This time, even his daggers would be Tiered Up.
Each one now costing 500 EXP to be raised, he raised both daggers, three small knives, and his armor to the Mutant Tier.
"Now I'm feeling..." With his soul much more powerful than that of an ordinary human, he was able to accurately feel for the first time what was happening.
An energy, which he imagined to be EXP, invaded his Sea of Souls and penetrated the Beast Souls that were chosen by him. A forced evolution process began to occur, a strange energy that he could not recognize, but found very familiar, being responsible for it. It was almost as if it used the growth function of the black crystal on these beasts, but without the weakening effect.

Once the whole process was over, he called all his beast souls at once. And he couldn't resist swearing.
