Chapter 1 - Fairy Tail!

It stirred the curtains of a window in a rather luxurious building facing the street. Despite the cold, it brought a refreshing feeling unique to the morning.

In a very slight sound, the half-hidden window was opened by someone. A boy stood by the window, about eleven or twelve years old, with short, finely-trimmed black hair and a pair of deep, dark pupils like stars. He looked at the bustling street outside the window, stretched lazily, but soon shivered slightly.
"Brr... a bit cold..."
Feeling the slight chill that came with the morning wind, Noah resisted the urge to turn back and crawl into his bed for a nap, and closed the window curtain.
This is the "Fairytail" guild!
In the kingdom of Fiore, where Magic is deeply integrated into people's lives, it can be said to be the cradle of Wizards who possess magic and make a living from it. There are countless wizards who belong to different guilds, accept commissions from others, and use magic to complete corresponding commission work. The same is true for the wizard guilds.
Fairytail is just one of these dense jungle-like guilds, but it is also one of the most prominent and well-known ones.
Now, the place where Noah lives is this Fairytail guild.
As the usual gathering place for guild members and the headquarters for accepting work and commissions, the Fairytail is almost uninhabited. Even the president of Fairytail - Makarov Dreyar, lives elsewhere.
However, as Makarov's adopted grandson, since being adopted by Makarov and brought back from the unknown wilderness, Noah has lived here for a year.
Of course, it's not that Noah doesn't like living with Makarov. The reason for living in the guild is quite complex. Generally speaking, Noah is quite satisfied with his current residence.
After tidying up the curtains, Noah looked out the window.
Noah's room is located on the top floor of the guild, so standing in front of the window, he could almost take in half of Magnolia Town, where the Fairytail was located, into his view.
Early in the morning, there were quite a few townspeople preparing for a day's work in the town. Some were busy opening their shops, some were moving some goods, making it very lively.
Looking at this scene, Noah felt strangely calm in his heart. Not knowing what he was thinking about, he muttered softly.
"Gray should be coming over soon, right? ..."
Just as his voice fell, the door of Noah's room began to shake incessantly from the impolite pounding.
"Hey! Noah! Time to get up!"
Hearing the impatient and rude pounding, Noah couldn't help but smile. He turned around, picked up a coat hanging at the head of the bed, draped it over his body, and inadvertently cast his gaze to the back of his right hand, where it froze.
Upon closer inspection, there was a bird-like tattoo on the back of Noah's right hand. That is the emblem of the Fairytail guild.
Those who have a guild's emblem tattooed on their body are proven to be the wizards of that guild. And the Fairytail is one of the leading wizard guilds in the Kingdom of Fiore. As a member of this guild, no one would feel dishonored.
However, looking at the emblem on his hand, Noah showed a very complicated expression, let out a sigh in the end, calmed his emotions, and opened the door.
What came into Noah's view was a young boy about his age.
With the same short black hair, but not as refined and smooth as Noah's, instead unruly and rebellious, the boy was standing outside the door with only a pair of shorts on, his face showing a somewhat impatient expression.
"If you hadn’t opened the door, I would have kicked it down!!"
Hearing this, Noah not only didn't take offense at the other's extremely unpleasant words, but gave a rather helpless smile.
Gray Fullbuster, that's the name of the boy of the same age standing in front of him. Although he's about the same age as Noah, he joined the Fairytail about two years earlier than Noah, making him Noah's senior.
Although he's a senior, given his age, he can't possibly be a mature magician yet. Currently, he's still practicing magic, striving to become a mature magician. Hence, he's like Noah who, although a member of the guild, is not yet at the level of taking on assignments and going out to work.
Because of this, Noah and Gray often communicated, and Noah's relationship with Gray can be considered the best in the entire Fairytail. This can be seen from the impatient expression on the other's face, but he still comes to the guild every day first in the morning to call Noah in his room.
"You're quite spirited early in the morning, Gray."
Noah opened his mouth with a bit of annoyance, and Gray walked into his room carelessly.
"You're too lazy, I've been practicing for about an hour before I came to the guild, and you, who haven't learned magic yet, are just getting up now!"
Facing Gray's somewhat harsh words, Noah didn't deny the fact, but just shrugged indifferently.
After all, what Gray said is not wrong.
Gray, still too inexperienced to accept commissions and work effectively, has begun using magic. However, his use of magic remains at a beginner level. Despite his immaturity, since he can use magic and is a part of the guild, he can be referred to as a Wizard.
But Noah, who is the same age as Gray and equally immature, still can't use magic up to now, so he doesn't even have the qualifications to be called a wizard!
This is also the reason why Noah just looked at his guild emblem with a complex expression. Only wizards can join the wizard guild, this is common sense within common sense. But Noah joined the when he still couldn't use magic, and stamped the Fairytail’s guild emblem...
Even though the people in "Fairytail" are not the kind of guys who would gossip about others, Noah himself is a bit concerned.
"I've always been puzzled," Gray, who walked into Noah's room, turned around and looked at him, "Even though the old man has said that your magic power is so strong that he is surprised, why can't you use magic?"
"If I remember correctly, this is the eleventh time you have asked this question, isn't it?" Noah sighed slightly, "Grandpa said that the magic power in my body is too strong. If I can't control it freely, using magic randomly will only bring unimaginable disasters. So, he temporarily prohibited me from learning magic until I can freely control the magic power in my body. Haven't I told you this already?"
"But are you really that strong?" Gray looked at Noah with a skeptical face, "I can't see it at all!"
"Really?" Noah rolled his eyes, "Why don't you go ask Grandpa yourself?"
Gray immediately shut up. With his confidence, even when Gray doubted it in his heart, but he still trusted Makarov's judgment. Since Makarov said so, it must be so, and there's no doubt about it.
"All right, all right, let's not talk about it, let's go downstairs, it should be lively down there!"
Noah nodded with a smile, and went downstairs with Gray.
