Great and may I say a respectful reaction. It still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end when the field of poppies comes up at the end. The cast said in an interview that even though it was a comedy that they wanted it to be respectful at the end. That is why they ended it the way they did. Personally I wear the poppy for all our fallen soldiers in all our wars, but also our allies as well. Including the U.S, Canada and Australia and other countries as well. Its should be a global thing not just a UK thing. If you are going to do another reaction to Blackadder I would miss out series one and go straight to series 2. Keep up the good work and please do another Peep Show reaction

2023-11-24 19:07:31 +0000 UTCI never tire of watching this episode. Humour is such a powerful tool to use when demonstrating the stupidity behind war. Every line hits home. My grandfather was one of those who went over the top in the Battle of the Somme. He ‘bought it’ on July 17, 1916. He was 27 and a sergeant in the Royal Fusiliers. My dad was only 13 months old at the time and so never knew his father. My grandfather was awarded the George Medal posthumously for ‘bravery in the field’. His two brothers were also killed in action. My poor grandmother was left with three small boys, all of whom fought in WW2 and survived. The family lived in Dover, and I’ve been told that people in the town heard the bombardment from the Somme, which was just over the other side of the English Channel. I’ve never seen a photo of my grandfather, but I do have his medal.
