Final release date (Phew)

Hi everyone,

If you read my last post, you know that I decided to add more renders and animations to the episode. Render count is currently at ~800 (was 500) with 8 additional animations instead of 3. I found a neat little trick that I could use to work with animations that cuts down my time by a lot. I still want to add more but I'll leave that for the next episode since this update is already overdue. The links will be up on Monday.

Thank you for your patience as always.

Not at all confusing! :-) I'm familiar with DAZ, and I know what you're alluding to here: DAZ is a powerful rendering tool, but it's not always straightforward to use. There are a *lot* of "hidden" techniques that the documentation and the tutorials don't cover. I guess that's the trade-off for DAZ being available for free. It can be pretty daunting to learn. I'm still grappling with it myself. Speaking of renders, I wanted to say how much I appreciate your render work. The big challenge with renders is to make the characters look as lifelike and as "alive" as possible in any scene, and you do this. I'm also impressed with your use of lighting -- especially since your story's quasi-medieval setting probably limits the types of illumination you can use. I know enough about DAZ to get a sense of the amount of work you're putting in. Please know that it's appreciated. If I stumble on any DAZ tricks which I think might be of use to you, I'll be sure to pass them along. Be well!

That girl... so beautiful. Nice outfit too - as far as I can see. :D Looking forward to the next release.

Haha okay maybe calling it a 'trick' was overkill but it's just something I should have been doing ages ago. If you use Daz, you render out your animation in viewport mode instead of iray so this way you get to test fluidity and body movement. I used to test this using lower resolution iray renders which took maybe 20 minutes just to 'test' movement. With viewport rending however, that 20 minutes turned into 30 seconds. This will sound confusing if you're not a Daz user so I apologize

No worries, CC. Always better to take the time you need to get things done the way you envision, than to slam things together for speed's sake and then regret the results later. Reasonable people understand that VN work takes time and effort to do well. I confess I'm now curious about this "secret trick" you discovered to create your animations more quickly -- but I suspect it's not the sort of trick the magician should share with the audience. :-) Thanks for all your hard work; I look forward to seeing the new content, as ever. Be well!
