Not dumb at all! I use Blender and Substance Painter. If I can give you a tip, don't get caught up too much in programs, workflows, research, etc. Not saying that's what you're doing, but I see people (and have been guilty of it myself), doing tons of research to prepare, when really they should just be downloading whatever is closest to them and making stuff.
