Just wanted to mention that I sent a few gifts via Amazon to your PO BOX. Hopefully they all arrive okay. Should be seven items in two shipments next month. Most of them are silly things. I wanted to send "Maybe You Touched Your Genitals" Hand Sanitizer as a reference to a personal favorite vlog but Amazon wouldn't let me gift it. Also tempted to literally send thirty pounds of canned apple juice as a post-surgery gift but I questioned how well it might keep. Hope you enjoy the silly and useful stuff I did send :).

1) I have a feeling a corporation is definitely going to be in the works, especially now that MalMakes is a reality and she'll be earning her own supplemental income from YouTube. We've also discussed this with our accountant in the past, and yes, it'd help us out with banks, but would apparently take 2 years for the banks to use the info. We were hoping to get into a place sooner than that, but in retrospect maybe we should've just formed the corporation a long time ago. We'd probably be in a place soon if that were the case. :S Our idea now is to have Mal try to get a loan herself. We've tried this before, but the first time was in 2014, and one of the years they looked at (2012) Mal was still part-time. Now that she's been working at her job full time for several years, we think she might be able to get a sizable loan for something a little nicer. That's the route we're hoping to take once tax season is over. We have high hopes! 2) No opposition to subtitles! In fact, Mal's favorite film is Amélie, and I've seen quite a few subtitled (and quite weird) movies that I've thoroughly enjoyed (Dogtooth comes to mind for sure). I don't have any particular favorite genres, but I tend to align very closely with critics (if a movie has a 95% critic score and a 20% viewer score on Rotten Tomatoes, chances are I loved the film). The only warning I'll give is that—and you know this from how often I update Letterboxd—I don't get around to watching many films. We still have some films given to us by viewers that we haven't gotten around to yet. I'm sincerely hoping that once I get caught up on vlogs that Mal and I will be able to enjoy more movies, though. With that in mind, I'm open to anything you choose to send (I don't think I've ever seen a film that was "too" weird, haha), just understand it could be a while before we get around to actually seeing it. Thanks for the support, Dan!

Dear Stephen & Mal Happy New Year! I hope things have been going well and the Stephen is less sick now. A couple of thoughts/questions: 1. Regarding the house, have you considered forming an S corporation with the both of you as owners? You could then pay yourself as an employee and retain all of the income on your tax return. Obviously, this would cost more than the way you're doing things now (you'd need a separate bank account for the corp, you'd have legal fees in the creation of the corp, you'd need to pay a payroll company to withhold taxes appropriately, etc. If you start to consider this option seriously, you should talk to your accountant about expected expenses as well as extra fees he would charge) but I do believe that this would significantly help the banks with your employment status as a self-employed person. You might want to talk to some local banks and discuss this option and whether or not it would help. If it doesn't help, then I wouldn't want you to incur these extra expenses, but it's an option worth considering if you haven't done so already. 2. How do you feel about subtitles? I've been considering sending you some blu rays of great films, but most of the ones I'd want to send are subtitled (samurai movies are the best movies). Also, while you clearly love terrible movies (I feel like the only movies I see from you on Letterboxd are MST3K), what other sorts are you interested in? If I sent you classic Hollywood screwball comedies, would those sit unwatched forever? Can you handle silent comedy? Would European films that challenge the nature of the medium be too weird for your tastes? I'd be happy to send you a few things to help you expand your horizons. Keep up the good work! -Dan
