Welcome back to ArTorr Monthly! Here's the scoop on what I worked on last month and what you should look out for in the month(s) ahead!

... for 100,00 SUBSCRIBERS!!! Genuinely, I had no expectation for this happening this year, let alone that it would never happen for most of the time I've run ArTorr. But what really changed that was the Rogue One video, which brought a staggering 30,000 new subscribers to the channel. I just feel insanely blessed-- and grateful to be on this journey with all of you. Thank you so SO much for supporting it.
Some other milestones from last month I want to quickly express gratitude for as well: The Myth That Rogue One Shattered crossed 1 million views, The Unmistakable Humanity of The Last of Us Part II crossed 1 million views, and ArTorr surpassed 10 million channel views! Thank you!!!
Now onto some ACTUAL video updates!
At the start of May, I had a very loose goal to finish the Andor script. As the month progressed, I realized it was much more realistic for the pace I've been working at to just aim for finishing the first draft by the end of the month, and worry about polish on later drafts. For the purposes of this ArTorr Monthly, I basically hit my goal: I finished draft 1 on June 1st, writing about a page a day from mid-May onward.
My next goals are to get to the final draft by Mid-June, record it, then get started video editing before the end of the month. I think getting to editing is at least a certainty, while working through drafts may take longer than I think for this month. Either way, I'm committed to making this one of the best scripts I've ever written for the channel. What's there right now in draft 1 is pretty good, but I already have tons of ideas for how to make the next draft truly great. And hopefully, draft 3 is even better than that.
There are a couple of things I think I can confirm about the video at this point: it will be at least twice as long as the Rogue One video, as the script I've written is twice the length, and probably won't get any shorter after subsequent drafts. It is only about Season 1, but seeing Season 2 did influence how I wrote certain things for this video. Though I'm not making a video on Season 2 this year, the concept for that video is beginning to form in the back of my mind for next year, and so I want to build the connections now in the writing of this video that will then connect to the next video.
I'm also excited to announce that the video is titled The Thousand Faces of Cassian Andor. The work continues. Coming soon!
Over this past month, on my days off from my day job and in-between writing sessions, I've started playing back through Ghost of Tsushima, taking notes, and working on the outline. Of course, that outline won't fully come together until after I've finished this playthrough, but it's very exciting to finally be getting a sense of what this video will be about.

There's not much else for me to communicate about progress on the video at this time. Though I'm not totally certain, I envision this video will probably be structured similar to my Jedi Survivor video, where I will focus mostly on analyzing the storytelling, touch on the making of the game in parts, and bring in some historical context as needed, given the subject matter of the game. I'm also considering incorporating Samurai cinema in some way in the video's discussion, but I'm not decided yet.
That concludes ArTorr Monthly for May 2025. This was a huge month. And honestly I'm pumped to get even more work done in June. May all your dreams come true this June. I'll see you again soon!
