Welcome back to a slightly belated ArTorr Monthly! There's not much to talk about from this past month, but here's the rundown on what I worked on nonetheless!
April was entirely about writing the script for the Andor video. And as expected, I'm not even close to finishing it. A key thing to note about my creative process here is that, though I did a great deal of research before starting the script, the very nature of this video has demanded even more research along the way as I've been writing it. What that has looked like for me on a day-to-day basis is that I am spending as much time writing words on the page as I am double-checking my sources for more information, or searching for more information on the web. The vast majority of this is historical and political research, akin to what you saw in the Rogue One video, so fact-checking and accurately representing information also plays a big part in how I'm spending my time on the script daily.
As a reminder, this video is a behemoth, and will not be ready until summer at the soonest. We're in this for the long haul. But that being said, I'm currently about 40% of the way through the script, which presents the possibility that it will be finished before the end of the month, so that I can start editing in June. Fingers crossed!
This video has been an absolute delight to work on so far. Not just because Andor is arguably the best and coolest Star Wars to ever come out, but because this video really drills into the topic of history in a way the previous video really only flirted with. In that sense it's not just an analysis of Andor, but an amateur study of revolutions and what we can learn from the many times they've erupted in human history. So truly, I am so thrilled to be putting this together for all of you!!
As I said, there's not much to report on this from this past month, and that will pretty much always be the case when my focus is so absorbed by one project. I have not started outlining the Ghost of Tshushima video yet, but plan to get that underway once I am further along in the Andor script. I've also made no progress on getting the Twitch channel up and running. One step at a time for all these things.
One cool thing I did do this past month outside of the Andor script is co-host a podcast about Andor Season 2 with my friend Mike Rivera. He's an Instagram influencer in the Star Wars community and a close friend of mine, so the vibe of this podcast is very different from something like The ArTorrium that Davie and I host on here. We've mostly done it for fun but if you are indeed curious about my thoughts on the current season of Andor, you may want to check these out.
That concludes ArTorr Monthly for May 2025. Here's hoping there's more to report on next month. Stay safe, and have a great rest of your May. I'll see you again soon!
