2024-11-27 15:51:06 +0000 UTCI think there's some interesting stuff in this episode...we had Luke last episode make the biblical "brother's keeper" reference and then we get it from Stryker in this one. We get the ADA who helped prosecute Frank Castle namedrop him in the same episode that we find out that Luke was a Force Recon Marine (same as Frank) and Luke saying one of Frank's mantras "not on my watch." We also got Shades making a reference that a huge chunk of the audience is probably too young to get..."Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis" was a catchphrase from Diff'rent Strokes, a late 70s-early 80s show about two orphaned brothers (Arnold and Willis) from Harlem who get adopted by a rich man and his daughter for whom their mother used to work. I know that was something the writer just had to be dying to slip into the script since finding out Stryker's name was Willis, lol. I know I, personally, thought of it the first time I heard his name...but I'm a geek of a certain vintage and my brain is a filing cabinet of dated pop culture, ha.

2024-11-26 17:40:40 +0000 UTCFunniest moments for me were the dudes trying to fight Luke like they would Daredevil and Luke being completely unfazed tossing them and Claire stepping on Shades' shades lol 😂 😂 We got the DA make an appearance and he talks about Frank as well. Diamondback is stuck in the past and he can't move on with his life and wanted the last name Lucas which is the opposite of Luke who tried to forget his past and runs away from it and changed his name to Cage.
