Definitely agree with Boss435. Eating popcorn in the movie carried a sense of guilt. And you could hear every sound. For the first half of the movie there’s very little score. Yes, there are jump scares but their affect is largely based on the previous silence. You have weighty silence, multiple concurrent stressful situations, and the movie started with the death of a child. You have no idea what’s going to happen and an accurate sense no one is safe. KL, the look on your face for probably a full 4/5 if this movie is the same tense looks Kilgrave earned in Jessica Jones. I see someone mentioned we have 2 more movies. I agree they are worth a watch, all 3 are good. And a video game recently dropped. A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead. Since you’re also a gamer, I for one am interested in seeing you catch up on the other films and give the game a try.

I remember watching this in the theater and it was soooo quiet. I was literally afraid to eat my popcorn because of how loud it would be.

Yes, staying quiet all of the time would be very difficult. And John Krasinski doing this is wild!

Completely agree! And yes, I've got the other movies down for 2025 watches, for sure!

The atmosphere of this movie is so tense it gives me anxiety. I love the little amount of verbal dialogue so they have to rely on the score and mood, perfect for a horror movie. I’ve never seen the other movies so I hope you check em out.

Loved this movie.

I love how out of nowhere the movie appeared. John Krasinski is forever Jim Halpert and the fact that he came up with the idea, assisted in the screenplay, directed it, acted in it and on top of that, directed his wife and acted alongside her... He showcased an entirely new set of skills he never had before. Up until that point, he was a comedy/drama guy. Now he's created one of the best creature features at least of the modern era, if not of all time. 100% agreed, the labor scene was next level tense and Emily Blunt perfected that entire sequence. She's spectacular. I think I'd last longer in the Last of Us world than I would the Quiet Place world for the simple fact that you have to stay 100% quiet all the time here. That's not just being silent yourself, that means never listening to music again, never watching movies again, never laughing out loud or playing any kind of game. It's as close to dead as you can get. Marco Beltrami made fantastic music choices. He elevated the film's tense moments even more than they aleready were. This is one of the rare 5 out of 5 horrors for me. It's literally perfect.

An absolutely spectacular movie...and oddly enough, the other two Quiet Place movies are also really fucking good.

Steve Mercier

It is. I'll say no more other than I hope you can find the time to go through the remaining two films. ;)

I didn't know it was a trilogy! πŸ‘€ I am definitely interested.
