This Week π
Added 2024-10-15 16:06:14 +0000 UTCHi everyone! This past weekend/yesterday was Canadian Thanksgiving. π¦ Won't lie, I love that our Thanksgiving is this early in the year. I sometimes feel like American Thanksgiving is a little too close to Christmas. π
Unfortunately on Sunday, Soka came down with a bad ear infection and because of Thanksgiving, we ended up needing an emergency vet appointment. Nothing that we haven't been through before (Ella had two of them in the time she was here), although this was Soka's first one. There is a ton of yeast in her ear that I am hoping we can clear out ASAP. Thankfully walks, dog friends, and toys are good distractions for her. I feel bad though, I can tell she's uncomfortable. I never like seeing my dog in discomfort. π
Aside from that. we've been getting spoiled with some incredible fall weather. π Cool (but not too cold) mornings with decently warm afternoons. I love living in one of the sunniest provinces in Canada.
The YouTube channel is going to have a few videos go out this week: Glass (finally), The Wolverine, Ghostbusters (2016), and I Am Groot.
PS. The horror poll winners are all going to release on YouTube in the days leading up to Halloween! Any suggestions on which of the three winners should release ON Halloween itself? I haven't made a decision yet.
There will be no gaming streams this week. I know I'm getting close to the end of the RDR base game, but my brain very much wants to focus on reaction work this week! Thanks for understanding.

Here's Soka being a very good girl at the vet:

And a hilarious picture of how Soka likes to chill on the couch sometimes, captioned by my friend Bree. π

Hiya everyone. There is a slight adjustment to the release schedule for this weekend. The watchalong for A Nightmare on Elm Street will be shared on Sunday morning instead of today. Everything else is the same, although the Luke Cage episodes will be shared late in the day in my time.

2024-10-19 01:58:28 +0000 UTCGlad to hear Soka is on the mend. I was confused by the people wishing her well because I kept looking at the photos and not the main part of the post and the photos don't make it sound like there was anything the matter. That's what I get for skimming.

2024-10-15 19:47:41 +0000 UTCLooking at the winners, I definitely think Nightmare on Elm Street would be the best of the three for Halloween night itself. Not sure about Canadian availability but they have just recently uploaded the "uncut" version of Nightmare on Elm Street to all US digital sale platforms as part of the rollout for the 4K UHD. However, I would admit that even though I snagged the uncut version for my digital library, and would love to watch it, the R-rated theatrical cut is going to be more widely available for viewers globally. (In this case, this is not actually an alternate cut, it's a difference of a few seconds to get an R rating from the MPAA; with horror, especially 1980s horror, these little trims and edits are always a big deal and tend to be things they've wished they could see since the movies were in theaters.)

2024-10-15 19:35:07 +0000 UTCNot a lot of 2022 guesses for me. Stuff I've seen: β’ Top Gun: Maverick β’ RRR β’ Nope β’ The Northman β’ The Banshees of Inisherin β’ Hundreds of Beavers Haven't seen: Seasonally appropriate - β’ Barbarian β’ Talk to Me β’ X
